Weekends



Weekends are for memory making, 
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.

My weekend was busy with a full house since both kids were home.  In favor of the list making, here's the weekend summary:

-corn on the cob with burgers and a spinach feta pasta salad
-s'mores on the grill (while pretending the grill is a campfire)
-thinking about the s'mores was a happy two day event for me
-a beautiful cold front blew through the area and I enjoyed a jacket wearing walk
-apartment searching for my daughter is over-once the application is filled out and a deposit is made
-walking twice a day and stopping to pick raspberries because they are sweet
-knitting
-finishing a challenging sudoku that lasted three days


Today will be the laundry, cleaning, menu planning for the week, and hopefully I will see my coffee table once more.

    I always love (LOVE) the coffee table shot!!! (Mine is going to be covered all week-----the grandboys will be here!) So glad Rachel is set (house-wise) for the coming year....phew. Check. One more to go!!!

    Sounds like you had a good, enjoyable weekend. Ours has been a busy one, but filled with good things. Lots of good food from the grill, day trips that were fun and easy, cooler nights (got to use my shawl one night sitting outside)... Now we're going to enjoy the last 5 days with my mom here before things will be back to "normal". :-)

    Your weekend was the opposite of mine. I was alone for much of it, but your weekend of fun, family, food and laughter is a grand way to spend a Holiday.

    Oh, I tried so hard to read those book jackets! Sounds like you had a great weekend; we did, too, but can't believe that July 4th is over..... We forgot the smores. Oh well, that's a good excuse for another picnic, right?

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
