Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
I've got the Christmas spirit pulsing through my veins. The tree is up and the lights are on when I wake up in the wee hours of the morning when I journal, with coffee of course. This weekend was good. Really good. I spent time with my husband toodling about the town shopping on Friday afternoon then picking up Chinese food for dinner.
On Saturday we watched the rain that lasted all day. Frodo would look lovingly out the window but when you opened the door, he hung his head in sadness - he prefers to be a dry dog. I prefer to be a dry human.
Today was Mass, then chats with both kids at different times. We are plotting out when they come home for the holidays. I've written and addressed some cards that will go into the mail tomorrow. This afternoon, I met with some friends for knitting and laughter.
Our local radio station plays Holiday music every day all day until Christmas night. I blast the radio whenever I drive, singing my little heart out. I refrain from the swaying and dancing in my seat. Doesn't everybody do that?
How was your weekend?
Karen, I love the colors in your yarn...and your cards are so special...some of your very own photography! How special! Your weekend sounds lovely. The sun came out today! WOOHOO! Prior to that it had rained two and a half days. I thought of you. Glad you prefer to be a dry human! :) I do, as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping over! :)
I think the Christmas spirit is starting to seep into me too Karen. I did go to a few local shops on Saturday and today Erin and John brought me a tree { I just didn't feel like cutting on down].
ReplyDeleteI do love to sing with the radio, even if I can't carry a tune.
I hope you week is a great one.
Your cards look lovely. A lady was addressing hers on the airplane at Thanksgiving. I was a little irritated, only because I felt like I was ahead of the game because I had thought about ordering cards already. I finally have a weekend to share! http://the-random-thoughts-in-my-head.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-weekend.html
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good holiday weekend. I am sitting here reading blogs and listening to Christmas music - so nice. We got our cards last week too and finished the decorations. Here is our weekend and the last week. enjoy the week ahead.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! Mine was very festive too -- though I did not resist the dancing to Christmas music. http://quesarah.net/2014/12/07/weekending-holiday-style/
ReplyDelete(And yes, I've not done a weekending post since summer. Hope it's OK to jump in!)
I love this post, I can feel more Christmas joy after reading it! I love Christmas music too :)
ReplyDeleteHey Karen, these cards look beautiful! And yes, I sing loudly whenever I get the chance :)
ReplyDeleteI'm joining with a weekending post today too! have a good start to your week!
We are enjoying the season as well. Music has been blaring, lights have been strung!! Enjoy your week Karen!!

Little touches of Chtistmas are appearing here and there. I have made up a playlist on the iphone and am feeling the spirit more. Love your weekend - it sounds perfect xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend, the Christmas spirit is definitely creeping in.
ReplyDeleteChristmas music has been playing here non stop too, thanks to one of our local radio stations. It is such an exciting and fun time of year. Enjoy it Karen. xo
ReplyDeleteOh your cards are so pretty! I am slowly getting into the Christmas spirit. What helped was my 2 year old Granddaughter so excited to cut down a tree and bring home on Saturday - even if it was in the pouring down rain.
ReplyDeleteVery busy weekend here not much time to relax. I haven't done Christmas cards at all yet and my tree is not up. It may be Christmas EVE before I get it done. But, I will visit you hear to hear more of your wonderful mornings with coffee and the lights! :) Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI sway and dance in my seat and play drums on the steering wheel and pretend nobody can see me!
ReplyDeleteWe have been on the holiday station in the car here for a week and streaming it from the net as well. My daughter being old enough to understand now keeps asking why the same songs sound so different. LOL! We have been trying to explain the fact that so many people sing the same songs her their own way. It's been wonderful to watch her develop her ear and music appreciation.
ReplyDeleteOur week-end was similar : Family time, crafting, getting the tree up and just enjoying some family time. :-) I'm glad you had such a wonderful week-end. xo
oops... family time twice... I guess we got a lot of family time LOL!
DeleteI'm coming to your house to be infused with some Christmas spirit! I haven't even listened to Christmas music yet. I think I will go and do that now. Did you take the photo on the front of that card? It's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteyes I did and thank you!
DeleteIt sounds like you are ready for Christmas! I'm still in the plotting and planning stage, but making progress. Your Frodo and my Fergus sound very much alike. Fergus hates the rain. As soon as I open the door and he sees it coming down he tries to turn around and comeback inside. :-)
ReplyDeletesounds like a lovely, Chrsitmas-y, weekend!
ReplyDeleteGlad for the joy and for the good days! and for church, so vital! I am playing Christmas music here at home today and putting out more decorations :) and hopefully baking cookies later... :)
ReplyDeletehello karen

ReplyDeleteI certainly do. I cannot , don't listen to anything BUT carols all through the season!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get the house all christmasy. I've received my first card but still have to write mine. I love the image on yours. Our weekend was busy with decorating but we escaped a couple of times and had fun doing so.

Our weekend was a sad one as a good friend passed away. At least he's no longer suffering, but he definitely will be missed. I feel for his wife of 56 years, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely singing some Christmas tunes when no one is looking. I don't get the opportunity to drive very much (which is fine) but I definitely enjoy a good seat dance. I've been known to shake it a little when doing the dishes as well ;)
ReplyDeleteI practiced some baking and started to try and deal with some clutter that has been plaguing me always since we are actually having a decent amount of people in my tiny apartment. GROAN. not enough knitting, ever!
A lovely weekend! Well, apart from the rain, but I hope that it has dried up for you by now. I sing all year round to the radio in the car, so I definitely sing along to Christmas songs too!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love all of the Christmas photos. My weekend was great full of scrapbooking. Glad you had a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteCould you please tell me what you are knitting and the yarn you are using? Thanks
ReplyDeletethe yarn is a zauberball 100 and the project is a cowl using the feather and fan stitch. Details are on my ravelry project page.
