Yarn Along and a Hat

Today is the yarn along at Ginny's blog-Small Things.  It is always wonderful to see what people are knitting for the week!

Well as you can guess, I am still reading The Forgotten Garden.  I only read at night these days and when I do I usually fall asleep.  I really like the book and the storyline is interesting.  So here is a photo of what I whipped up in two days.  I wanted to make a hat in one day but that was a bit unrealistic for me.  The hat is for my husband who has been wearing store bought headbands or hats.  I thought it was time he had a "real" hat made of wool.  What could possibly be warmer?

  2. The hat is great! I'd like to knit something like it for my husband. And I just got that book from the library, but I haven't had time to start it yet ...

  3. Great guy color choice! I need to come up with a good watchcap for my hubby, he's mentioned a couple of times he could use one when on the water or riding his scooter in the a.m.

  4. That's a nice hat! I knit my husband's first hand-knit hat last year and I am so pleased that he wears it all the time now. It may be time for a second one!

  5. What a great hat. I can't wait to see the socks you're going to start! I started a dishcloth this morning after I found out there's a Housewarming party in a couple of weeks. Trying to get a jumpstart on the gifts.

  7. Love the hat, but I think I like your red vase and flowers more. I have The Forgotten Garden on request at the library.

  11. So nice to read of someone else who falls asleep with a book in their hands. I can't read at bed anymore, I go to sleep every time. The hat looks great, good job!
