Yarn Along


I am currently reading Whitethorn Woods by Maeve Binchy.  I love this book so far.  Each chapter is a short story and like all of her other books she will tie all of the characters together near the end of the book.  I enjoy her writing style very much.  I picked up the book Blogging for Bliss and started reading it.  Someone on a previous yarn along featured it......I cannot remember who and it might be more than one person.  Whoever you are, thanks for the idea!  Also for some light reading I am revisiting Elizabeth Zimmermann's book, Knitter's Almanac.  I have read this book many times.  So I just pick a chapter or part and read bits and pieces.

My project is the Elderberry Wine Shawl.  The process of knitting this shawl is pure bliss.  The yarn is soft and the pattern is addictive.  The patterning to the left of the books is Chart E.  I have it memorized now since it has to be repeated 30 times!

    Oh, the shawl is really beautiful and you can even tell from the picture that it's soft! I have been wanting to read Knitter's Almanac for awhile now. Next on my list I think.

    You;re the second person I've seen this week reading Blogging for Bliss and Elizabeth Zimmerman. Is the blogging book worth reading? It looks interesting. And you continue to turn out beautiful knitting.

    Thanks for your suggestion about soaking the wool! I will definitely have to give it a try.

    I haven't tried knitting a shawl but yours is gorgeous and making me think I need to give it a go.

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
