Yarn Along

Good morning!  I thought this yarn along I would include my little chickie salt and pepper shakers, I find them so cheerful :)  I am near the end of reading The Mistress of Nothing which I checked out of the library and it is due back this Saturday.  I should be done with it today.  My knitting is the Mermaid's Tail Shawl.  I am enjoying all of the mindless garter stitch.  It makes fantastic TV knitting or talking knitting. Every right side row is the increasing row and the wrong side is just plain old knitting, can't beat that!  I also finished my cowl and blogged about it here.

We are getting more days with a bit of sunshine but still get overcast days with.......rain.  I promise I am not going to complain about the rain.  Remember, it leads to more greenery!  (I need to chant this many times a day!) The weather forecast is for cloudy overcast days all week, ugh!

For all of you that love to see what people are knitting and reading-maybe at the same time?!?! Then go on over to Ginny's blog~ Small Things~you will love it.

  1. I really do like the colors of the yarn you are using and I have to agree: your chicks are cheery. I'm complaining because of "no rain"-send it my way!

  5. I have to admit that I occasionally knit and read at the same time! It does slow down both considerably, and you can only do it with certain patterns, but. :)

  6. It's hard not to complain about the weather sometimes, isn't it? I completely agree with how you feel.

I haven't read Mistress yet, but I know it won the Governor General's award a year or two ago, and is supposed to be very good. Hope you enjoy it!

  8. What great colors for a shawl called "Mermaid's Tail"--evocative of the sea and of the shimmers in mother of pearl...I am sure it will be wonderful!

  9. I must admit that I'm not much of a shawl person, but I really like that pattern--I may make one!

How was the Mistress of Nothing? Did you like it?

It was another cold, dreary day here, too. I sure am looking forward to warmer days and sunshine :-)

  10. I am totally with on the mindless garter stitch. There is nothing like ot and a good movie (we are into Netflix's Season 5 of Project Runway right now).

  11. I love these colors - and I have fallen in love with garter stitch ever since I encountered the ubiquitous Tomten jacket. While I have little reason to knit a shawl now, and where I live, your post gives me itchy fingers...:)
