Yarn Along

This past week I started to read Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen upon the recommendation from my son.  He really really enjoyed this book.  So I thought I would give it a try.  Frequently when he likes a book I will like it.  So far it is interesting and has not been a slow read.  For knitting, I am still working on the Mermaid Tail's Shawl.  I should be finished by this weekend. I also continue to work on my cardigan but am still on the back armhole shaping.  I have to admit that it has been neglected most of the week.

Today is the last home game for tennis!  As long as it does not rain. Yesterday was another hot and humid day.  I am not terribly fond on humidity it makes my joints hurt.  Luckily there will be a cold front moving on through by the weekend. 1. I have wondered about that book and now I see they have made it into a movie. I need to read it since I always think the book is better.
Good luck at the tennis match and hopefully the weather won't be too bad.

  2. I read that one in the last two years, I think. It was fairly good and parts of it have definitely stuck with me. In fact, I found myself thinking about it recently - though I can't remember why now. (:

  7. I have that book on my list. My mom read it a while back and said it reminded her of my Grandpa, which is why I have avoided it. He passed away four years ago this May and I still miss him deeply at times.

The shawl is wonderful! I love the colours!

  10. I read that book a little while ago. Some parts I like others I wasn't a fan of. Looking forward to seeing what the movie is like though :)

  11. I haven't read that book yet, but I know it is a bestseller, and now a movie. I'll have to pick it up soon. --Can't wait to see your Mermaid's Shawl when it's finished. Those colors are truly reminiscent of the sea.

  12. Are you serious? Thankful for a cold front? Boy do we live in different climates. We're still waiting for our first real warm front!

    Blessings, Debbie
