Yarn Along
This week I am reading Mennonite in a Little Black Dress. For some reason I thought I could breeze through this book and that is not the case. I am enjoying it overall but I am only at the beginning so maybe next week I will have more of a fixed opinion to share with you.
My knitting is the Composition Shawl which I am loving! I really like this pattern and the yarn is Madelinetosh.......my all time FAVORITE yarn brand. My progress is slow and steady, I am completely enjoying the slow progress.
Oh! In case you were wondering about the beautiful patriotic bag in the photo. That is a fantastic present that my sister made for little old me! I am so very lucky to have such a nice sister, who knits and sews!!! I only knit so I feel like I am getting the better part of the bargain in the gift receiving department. I think it is for a sock project but my shawl project fits, so let's say it is for small yarn projects-how cool is that :D

Your sister sounds just great!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of the book you are reading so you have to let me know what you think when your done. Our taste seem to be similar so I'm curious.
What a neat bag! You have a great, talented sister :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your knitting.
I've been drooling over Madelintosh yarn for over a year. I just need to bite the bullet and spend the money...I just need the "perfect" project.
ReplyDeleteI've been eye-ing that book for awhile. I can't wait to see how you like it.
loving that color of yarn....
ReplyDeleteand about to look at that pattern...I didn't yarn along this week because I have yet to start my shawl!
Your sister is very sweet. Your yarn color is very pretty; it reminds me of a grape Slush Puppie. I used to love those things!
ReplyDeleteI may have to try Madelinetosh yarn. I've been resisting because of the price, but for the right project... The shawl is coming along lovely!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear your book review. I have been avoiding that book for some reason!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yarn! I'm looking forward to seeing your finished shawl and what you think of the book. :)
ReplyDeleteMan! I wish my sisters sewed and knitted/crocheted. :-)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try MT yarn but it is soo hard to get in the Uk - even by mail. The stockists never seem to have enough in stock for a whole project. Anyway, it looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLove the shawl. I haven't knitted with Madelinetosh. It is really pricey here in Australia, but I could contemplate it for the right garment. Hope you get lots reading time this week. Jacinta
ReplyDeleteI love your bag. The first thing I thought when I clicked over was: I love that bag. :)
ReplyDeleteI've never knitted with Madelinetosh but I've heard such nice things about it. I will have to give it a try one of these days. Looking forward to reading your impressions of the book as well... xo
Still loving the shawl color ... :)
ReplyDeleteI want to learn to sew someday, although it definitely won't happen while I'm still in grad school.
Thank you for your comment on my Yarn Along! I love the colour of your shawl, can't wait to see how it will turn out =)
