Moss Road Scarf


Why is it I always want to take a photo when it is early in the morning or late in the afternoon?  Both times are not the greatest times for lighting.  So anyways, this is the scarf I am making for my father in law's birthday.  My in-laws live in Ontario, Canada and we will be visiting them sometime this fall.  


They used to visit us every fall but now that they are getting older they have decided the drive is just too long for them.  I agree!  It is a very very long drive for me :)  So when we do make the trip we will be bringing with us their birthday presents, their anniversary gift and of course their Christmas gifts.


My plans are to knit this scarf and to make my mother in law a shawl for her birthday.  I believe I have plenty of time which will make the knitting enjoyable.  I really dislike knitting under pressure or a close deadline.  Knitting is relaxing for me and I like to savor the process.

    I think the picture is great! My best friend's husband is from Quebec and she does the same thing with gifts since they visit every July.
    The shawl I just finished is a birthday gift for my Mom who has a birthday in August. I am like you and like to knit for pleasure with no pressure.xx

    Wow! That scarf is so handsome. I love the charcoal color and yarn itself looks so yummy. You're going to have a very lucky father-in-law.

    That scarf is incredible. I am always awed by your talent. I have been knitting bookmarks as gifts for my mom and dad. I definitely have to start on Christmas!

    I have the same problem with photos - on top of the fact that my dining room (where I have the most useful space to set up for a photograph) has the worst lighting on the planet. I've been taking pictures on the front porch since spring came - I don't know what I'm going to do when winter comes again!

    Your scarf is lovely. I am in the middle of making a ton of baby gifts & also trying to get some fall knitting done for my own kids. Oh, and that stupid sweater I've been making for my brother since January. xo

    I agree...knitting on a deadline is very stressful and completely takes the enjoyment out of it for me. I love the scarf! A very stately color.

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
