Yarn Along

Good Morning!  I am so excited that today is yarn along day.  Where else can you get some good knitting ideas and good book ideas?  So this week I am reading Anne of Avonlea. As I stated last week I was probably going to start the next book in the series.  I find Anne of Green Gables addictive.

I did finish Dark Places and overall it was a really good creepy book with a good story line.  However---it was extremely violent (in gruesome detail) which I am NOT fond of at all and had way too much potty language.  So I have forewarned you all.  If any of you are brave to read it I would love to know what you think of it.  I had to read the book during the day and not at bedtime.   I unfortunately (or fortunately) am functioning at a PG-13 level of entertainment.....

I am knitting the whirligig shrug for a friend who is expecting a baby (of course).  The yarn is Paton's Grace and I had some skeins in my stash.  It is cotton and I just love the sheen of it.

  1. The book I am reading is pretty creepy too. I was disturb to find out that all the violent parts are from 'true' events! I need to find some happy books!
Love the yarn and finding it in you stash makes it even better.

  10. I refuse to read creepy! I filled my mind full of it in my youth, done with that. Anne of Avonlea is way more pleasant! :)

  11. Oh my, that whirligig is sweet! Cute!

Enjoy your time with Anne! I am definitely more in the Anne boat than the Dark Places - I am a big wimp especially with books!

  12. Love that shrug! I'm always looking for sweet things to knit flat (I'm not a fan of knitting in the round, even though I know I should get over it!). Anne is such a soothing balm after creepy, eh? I love "dark" but not creepy or violent (I'm such a wimp ;-). Glad you're finished with that for now! (LOL! I just noticed Rachel's comment...I see I'm not alone :-)
