Baby It's Cold Outside



And what would keep a baby warm?  Why a cardigan of course.  Not just any old cardigan but the good old standby of Elizabeth Zimmermann's creation-February Baby Sweater!  I decided to do a gray yarn because the recipient loves neutral shades.


I decided to eliminate the lace pattern so the two shades would be the main focus of the sweater.  I also could not resist adding a touch of flare with the red buttons.  The details of this sweater can be found on my Ravelry page.

    What a sweet pattern - I love the changes you made and the little dental work where the two colors meet. What wonderful colors and the pop of red buttons is a nice touch.

    That is about the cutest thing I have ever seen.....really. I LOVE the buttons, the color, the pattern....I WANT one in my size! What a lucky baby and how sweet of you to knit that for him/her! I did buy Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Without Tears and am reading it. Which book is this pattern in? I love it!

    This is the most precious little thing!! The red buttons truly make the sweater--perfect touch.
    (Oops--didn't know about the neutral color thing for Amanda--problems with being a newbie! Mine is sort of in-your-face preppy! Might brighten up a dark day???? :) )

    Oh my gosh, I LOVE it! I've made this pattern so many times, and have never thought to do it the way you have. I love the contrasting neutral shades with the red buttons and the garter stitch details. Really sweet :-)

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
