The Beach
I thought I would share with you some photos of our beach vacation. We were in North Myrtle Beach, SC. When I gathered everyone's schedule to plan a vacation it was immediately clear that the only week available was in May!
That means if you want to swim in the ocean and not become an ice cube you must travel south. We wanted a family atmosphere (read that as: quiet, clean, and less crowded). That is how we picked North Myrtle beach. It was lovely to have oceanfront accommodations, the balcony view was perfect.
I believe that I am fully recovered from the eternal ride coming home from the vacation. Long car rides do me in mentally and physically. My house is mostly tidy. The laundry is caught up. I am now in the "summer" time of the year with both kids home. It's nice to have a full house again.
Another great way to kick off the summer is trying some new recipes. My sister and I are both participating in the 30 Day Vegan workshop which started yesterday. I have no goals. I just want to experience new recipes and focus on a healthier eating life style.
This last photo is someone's beautiful sand creation that I needed to photo. I don't know who made it but I love their style :)
Ahhh I love stormy beach pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us. Made me want to sneak away for a few minutes and get a walk in on the beach!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty Karen and I'm glad you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your sister enjoy the class, I had wanted to
take it myself, maybe another time.
Give Frodo a pat for me.
PS- I think I could eat a whole loaf of sourdough
bread by myself too! :)
Amazing photos, and it sounds like an amazing trip too! I wish I could say MY laundry was all caught up! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful vacation! I would love love love to visit the ocean again... it's been 8 years since I stood on a salty shore. Enjoy your kids!
ReplyDeleteoooh, that second photo...gorgeous! so lovely to hear about your family beach vacation...so good you made it happen.
ReplyDeletep.s. i did the 30 day vegan last spring, and really enjoyed it. heather is a wealth of information.
Beautiful. I love the beach! We leave Friday for a long weekend at our Oregon coast and I'm beginning to feel the excitement of returning to my old friend the sea...
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
I am trying to find some beach time for us. Not sure where we are going to go. Looking for much of the same as you. So glad your summer is set to begin. Traffic stinks!
ReplyDeleteI used to go to North Myrtle back when I was in High School. It is a wonderful place, particularly before season. Looks like you had a nice trip.
ReplyDeleteWe head to Myrtle Beach usually once a year. Stayed at the North end one time but now we go to Surfside every year. I miss the beach!!! Thanks for letting us enjoy it through your pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely photos, it sounds like you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun and relaxing time! Thanks for sharing pictures!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures....puts me really really in the mood for our family vacation mid-June just south of Myrtle Beach (Holden Beach); 13 of us---guess we'll be bringing our own "crowd"!!
ReplyDeleteAnxious to hear about the 30 day vegan course; I thought about it, but I'm going to be in and out most of the time it was running. Hope you get really inspired!
Lovely blog! And lovely vacation :)
ReplyDeletei love the pictures! we have one more month to go before we can relax and i am so looking forward to it!
ReplyDeletethe only reason i like car rides is because i get to knit for long stretches of time. my husband knows better than to ask me to drive ;o)
Looks wonderful. As a kid we vacationed in Myrtle Beach every summer, I have some very fond memories. In fact my parents head back every year for the month of October and then again for February and March, they love it there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your beach photos! Your trip looks wonderful! We camped in Myrtle Beach last summer...it was nice but I would have much preferred North Myrtle Beach and less hoop-la. Thanks for stopping by today....with our upcoming move and the busyness, I have been a less frequent visitor to blog land and missing it!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful photos of the beach!
ReplyDeletelove the sea....love your photos. my mother and i were just talking about trying to get the family together on vacation and we talked about N. Carolina.
ReplyDeleteGlad you survived the trip back.
I hear you about the eternal car rides!! LOL! When I drive to see my daughter and her family, it takes me a day to recover from the two day drive!!
