Lavender Tea Leaves Cardigan
I've finished the tea leaves cardigan! It's a lovely pattern to knit up and I only used five skeins of Cascade 220. This cardigan is special because of two lovely gifts that I received a few months ago.
The buttons!!!! The buttons were handmade by Tracey over at Clover. Isn't she the sweetest person to make them for me?? When I received them I picked a sweater for the buttons. It's true and it's the first time I've done that. I believe the buttons were made from antlers, I'm sure she will confirm that fact and I'll edit accordingly. I love them Tracey and thank you!!
The second gift was from a dear knitting friend who gave me the name tags. They were bought at Mountain Street Arts a lovely etsy shop. Aren't they adorable??
The last two photos were taken by my son and Frodo was excited to get into the photos. I have to admit the outside photos were pre-blocking and that pesky button band now lays flat. I am impulsive when a project is done and want the photos immediately. Also my son is patient when taking photos and has an artistic eye. Otherwise it's just me taking the photos..
Oh, beyond beautiful! And the so is the sweater ;) Awesome buttons ~ what a nice gift.
ReplyDeleteOh, Karen, it is beautiful!! Those buttons are perfect with this sweater; or, I guess I should say the sweater if perfect with the buttons!! You look wonderful wearing it! blessings ~ tanna

ReplyDeleteReally pretty...I've been thinking of making this one myself...It does look lovely. Still debating now it's gone colder. It's good that it uses so little yarn and I really like the yoke at the back. I like your little labels. Oh and the buttons look gorgeous too...Tracey is so clever.

ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely! I just adore it, and the buttons too! I have never made a sweater or cardigan, but I was thinking that this one might be good to start with. I am trying to (slowly!) pick up new skills with each project. Also, I just love the name of it--perfect for afternoon tea and reading!

Yes, the buttons are from a white tail deer antler,
cut, polished and rubbed with a mixture of bees wax
and woodblock oil.
Enjoy my dear friend.

ReplyDeleteLove your tea leaves. I was wearing mine today. It has suddenly turned cold here. Winter is in the air, even though we had really hot temps up until a couple of weeks ago. I'm so tempted to cast on another tea leaves this winter. Jacinta
