Weekends


I set off with my son to pick up my daughter so there could be some serious brother-sister bonding.  Schedules juggled and mission complete!  Car rides with new-to-me music courtesy of my son.  We tend to have similar tastes so it's an enjoyable listen.

Last night we watched Silver Linings Playbook, if you haven't seen this movie yet you should.  I promise you will enjoy it immensely.

Dinner out, dinner in, donuts bought, laundry piles, journal entries, Dr. Who watching, book rearranging, piano music playing and listening to Rent that creates a most pleasant tune in my head "no day like today"

rabbit hunting (this one is Frodo's weekend activity-he almost caught another one-we are calling him a warrior)

and a wee bit of daydreaming which is the best stress reducer

    We enjoyed our weekend at home. We finally finished a "flower" bed, got the remaining tomatoes staked and treated for aphids (booo), mowed the lawn...It wasn't all work and no play though, the girls had friends over, we watched a movie, the girls spent time in the pool... A mostly relaxing weekend. :-)

    Sounds like another good one Karen. I haven't managed to catch Silver Linings Playbook yet but it's been one that I want too...thanks for the recommendation I'll try and make sure we see it soon. I keep trying to watch Dr Who but keep missing most of it...and this is only Dr Who that I really like.

    We were in London for the weekend and although I really felt I had too much to do at home to go away...It ended up being such a lovely stress free weekend that I was so glad we did.

    Thanks for sharing your weekend with us Karen. Hope there was lots of brother-sister bonding time like they'd wanted! We spent most of our time inside, as most of us have colds. So lots of nose wiping and baby cuddling, but it was lovely in its own way. :)

    Brother-Sister bonding! My brother comes to visit us and even though he is 6 years younger than me with no wife or kids yet, we have the best time. Sounds like a great weekend!

    How lovely! How wonderful it must be to watch your son and daughter grow up to be friends. I am sure they enjoy being with you as much as you enjoy being with them. My husband also loves the music from Rent. He put one of the songs on a mix cd he made for me when we first started dating:)

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
