Sweater Knitting
I am pleased to share with you some exciting news, I have finished knitting the sweater! All the ends are buried so now I have to pick out buttons, I have a few in mind. Soak and block this beauty. Hopefully all will happen today. I know I bought buttons with this sweater in mind sometime in the spring while visiting my sister. So I just have to find them... I was getting a little tired of knitting the sleeves, there is just not a good way in my mind to knit sleeves fast. I opted for two circulars-it felt fast but not fast enough. Hopefully I will have some photos by next week so please visit again.
My other knit is a wurm hat with Zitron Unisono yarn. I love this yarn!! It is soft yet crisp in stitch definition and I am thrilled with the long color repeats. I went out and bought another skein in another colorway. This knitting I am savoring, if it was a food. I love the way the stitches feel in my hand and I'm just enjoying working with the yarn.
I'm reading the same book and it's alright. I must say going to a 40th high school reunion just doesn't appeal to me so the plot is not engaging enough. I liked high school but haven't been to one reunion. To be honest I don't think I would remember many people! Just my 3-5 closest friends..
What are you knitting and reading this week?

Congrats on finishing those sleeves!
ReplyDeleteI love it when I am working with a yarn like you described - never wanting the project to end (although in honesty I'm more likely to finish it up quicker because I'm enjoying it so much!).
I skipped my high school reunion this year. I can't think of a single person I haven't kept in touch with that I'd want to catch up with now.
Hooray for FO's! I am sending you hopes for cooler weather soon so you can wear it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to any of my high schol reunion's either. I did go to one of my Mike's, that was enough.
Yay for finishing the sweater, and that hat looks great! Such beautiful colours in both.
ReplyDeleteHigh school reunions, haven't been to mine either.
Can't wait to see some pictures! I agree about reunions. My mom really enjoys hers though. (I get most of my dislike for social events from my dad, I think he's been dragged to one of his and one of hers and that's it!)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the sweater all finished! I love that colour.
ReplyDeleteThe sweater looks so pretty already! Enjoy the finishing process. I love the feeling when I am near the end of a project.
ReplyDeleteThat is very exciting progress on your sweater! I still love the color :)
ReplyDeleteI love that color for your sweater! Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteKaren- the color way and pattern looks so nice- what a beautiful sweater.
ReplyDeleteCurious.....What pattern are you using?
I can't wait to see the sweater when it is blocked and with buttons! Great color. I went to my 20th reunion a few years ago and it was fun, but mostly because it was an open reunion not just for our class, but for the school and there were a lot of people there so it was nice to catch up, but unless it was an open reunion again, I"m not sure I would go.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I really love that colorway! Sleeves are always the toughest part!
ReplyDeleteYour sweater looks really nice, and I'm eager to see the finished product. I'm with you on the reunions...I never went to them either.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see you model the sweater for us! The color is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour sweater looks beautiful! I can't wait to see it totally finished!
ReplyDeleteHoly Hot Pants! You are on knitting fire! I can't believe you got that all done, are reading and having great family summer fun. My hero. Can't wait to see you in your sweater. I love the yarn.
ReplyDeleteYay! There is no better feeling than completing a sweater. I'm with you on knitting sleeves. It has to be done, but there is no good (speedy) way to do it. I can't wait to see your sweater all blocked and with buttons--I love the color. And, your wurm hat is wonderful. I've got to try that yarn.
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone: I've never gone to any of my high school reunions either. : )
Beautiful sweater! I love picking out buttons. Love the colors in the hat. I'm not keen on school reunions either.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can't wait to see the buttons you pick! I've not been to any of my class reunions... don't plan on going either!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweater. I am with you on high school reunions. I went to my first five year high school reunion, left early (before dinner) and never attended another. Like you, I have stayed in touch with the people I really cared about. I never liked high school popularity games so couldn't care less about reunions.
ReplyDeleteLove that color! Congrats on the finish; sleeves seem to take forever, don't they? Nice book choice also. I'm not a reunion fan either, except for families.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one who dislikes round sleeves. I can knit flat sleeves in way less time and sewing doesn't take that long.
ReplyDeleteLove the colours in your sweater, hope you find those buttons tucked away safely.
Enjoy your hat knitting.
can't wait to see your sweater completed, Karen
ReplyDeletelike you I'm dreaming about autumn and cast on a sweater for myself today!
the colour range of the sweater is beautiful! can't wait to see it on you!!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! Your sweater is gorgeous, Karen! Sleeves DO seem to take forever. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear about the Zitron. I do love long color changes... and I savor like you. blessings ~ tanna
