Weekends and Family
The photos this weekend are what I did while moving our son out of his apartment. I stayed with the car, as you can see, I look good in my grief (grandma saying). All of our son's new friends helped out with the big move. Goodbyes were said and then we were on the road again.
Have you noticed the early morning darkness? Slowly the daylight is shifting and changing-I've noticed and paused. We sat on our swing, eating an appetizer kind of dinner, drinking iced tea, catching up on news and plans. The tilt of the sun's rays shining, hinting at the end of summer season. I'm liking what August is offering.
How was your weekend?

I noticed that the sun set before 8PM last night and I got a little depressed! We loved to take drives way back when. We really should do it more often - there's so much of New England that we haven't even seen yet since moving here.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a super fun idea- with the sat nav. Karen. I have too noticed a change in the sun rise/set. Love your shoesies.
ReplyDeleteI headed out for a run not long ago and then had to wait for it to get a little lighter so I could see. Out here when it's dark, it's really dark. Oh yes, I can't wait for cooler weather and eating dinner by candle light.
ReplyDeleteI noticed, the other day when I was walking the pond, that the evenings are noticeably shorter; I'm liking it, too. I also like your blue toenails and those cute sandals. : ) Oh, and the black-eyed Susan's around your front porch. Going for long, aimless drives is still one of my favorite things. I love to explore new places.
ReplyDeletelove those blue toenails!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I used to love taking a drive in our early days together :) We would always end up some place new and enjoyed the adventure.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed a shift in the way the air smells -- first in the morning and now through the day. Autumn air. Although I'm not ready for summer to end. I hope Fall takes its sweet old time. I think we may be the last people without a GPS -- we still use paper maps and I love it. Cute toes!
ReplyDeleteLook at all those black eyed susans. Beautiful! I hope falls stays around longer than summer did for us. I'm loving the cool crisp air.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little I remember my family and I packing into the car, grabbing a snack and driving back roads, listening to music and talking. Such a great memory.
ReplyDeleteOne of our weatherpeople was talking about how we are losing a little more daylight each day...sigh.
ReplyDeleteThe days are getting slowly shorter... summer will be over before we know it. Man, life buzzes past so quickly.
ReplyDeleteI love rambling without a destination... seems so free. I know it's a mixed bag leaving children behind. hugs and blessings ~ tanna
The days slowly shortening ... I can't think about it just yet. The photos are great and I felt the light of the summer. Really like your fun nail polish too!
ReplyDeleteI love going out and exploring too! We have loved some of the little towns that make up the huge metropolis of LA. I am a map lover, and I think it's amazing that the next generation won't have the same experience we did with paper maps. But there are always atlases--the best thing for noting every tiny town you pass, slowly charting your progress:)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I call those adventure days - get in the car and start driving - stopping along the way at things that interest us. Or we pick a new town to explore. Sounds like a fun day.
ReplyDeleteOh, it all sounds wonderful. I love to take drives, too. Cute toesies...love the color! Enjoy your sons time home. :)
