Yarn Along
I've made lots of progress on my Thanksgiving sweater, as you know I quickly cast on last week impulsively and I've already completed the armholes and now am whizzing along the body of the sweater. Will it be done by Thanksgiving? Who knows! But I'm enjoying the process and the color is divine. Remember my interesting socks well they are finished!! They are still a VERY interesting colorway and I am happy to know they will be tucked behind jeans and boots keeping my feet warm through the winter.
My husband and I watched Grapes of Wrath on Netflix... does that count as reading? I guess not. I finished The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton and loved it. My only criticism is that I guessed the surprise ending half way through the book and therefore lost steam in reading the rest, but I did and I'm glad I did. I recommend the book. Still reading Grace Eventually by Anne Lamott, nearly finished. For variety I snapped this photo of Emily Dickinson's Collection of Poems that I've been reading bits here and there. That's the best part of poetry :)
What are you knitting and reading this week?

ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you for knitting a sweater. I knew you could do it! The colorway you picked out is so pretty and so appropriate for Thanksgiving. I recommend that you read Grapes of Wrath. The ending is so different from the movie.
ReplyDeleteOf course the sweater will be finished. Especially if you keep knitting as fast as you have been! It's a great color. I just ordered some yarn in that color for some slippers. Very Autumn like!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the color of your sweater!! Now I'm really, really itching to knit myself an orange sweater, too! The socks turned out great, I think it's a very fun colorway. :-)

Hmm, I guessed surprise endings on books before... don't like it. But I guess Kate Morton is always a lovely read, so I might give it a try as well. I think I used this orange Cascade yarn on my shortsleeved sweater I finished at the beginning of the year, a charcoal one that has orange trims. it is lovely colour! oh yes and I made a sweater in that colour for the junebug too, matching it with dark blue. Love poetry reading for the bits here and there too. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteYou and my mom both guessed the ending of the Secret Keeper, I was totally surprised.
