On My Walk

The weather was warm enough over the weekend to resume walking the dirt road that is near my house. This walk is a restive walk, quietness descends with each step and you hear trees rustling and birds singing.  I love this walk because of the solitude.

As you can see, brown brown brown is everywhere you look.  However in a mere few weeks we will be witnessing some fresh spring green sprouting.  In my youth, I rarely appreciated early spring but now I do.  I love the anticipate early spring provides.  I know that one day I will set out for a walk and see signs everywhere I turn that spring has arrived.

P.S.  The three inches of snow from yesterday morning is nearly melted and today will be almost 60 degrees!

  2. It is always so nice to get outside for a nice walk - especially in a quiet place away from the noise of the city...sounds like you are finally getting some spring temps headed your way!

  3. Wow that's hot. I love that wild quiet road perfect for a lonely stroll.
We had a lovely mild drizzly morning that I spent in the garden digging. The sun is shining brightly now and spring definitely here.
    Enjoy the peace.

  4. What a great place to walk! Ree & my husband found a spot like this in the back of our development last Fall. Being heavily pregnant I didn't walk it. Ree is very excited that very soon she will get to show me her "new place to explore!"

  5. I wish we had areas like that close by. As it is, we have to drive somewhere to be able to take a nice quiet walk like that.

  11. How wonderful! I love the hints of green in the moss and evergreen. I have always loved fall so much that I haven't always paid spring too much attention, but this year I feel like I am somehow experiencing it for the first time, and it is so wonderful:) Happy almost spring to you!

  17. Sounds chilly still, Adelaide tried for the hottest day in April at 37 degrees C ( dont know what that is in fahrenheit) but lets say hot. Anyway last ditch effort at Summer...like you we are brown in colour ,brown hills dried to a crisp by the hot weather. Winter and early spring are green times here. Regardless of the colour nature always manages to divulge its beauty to us in subtle ways

  18. That looks like such a nice road to walk. We have a little bit of white left (but more coming tomorrow - boo!) and the dogs have to be hosed off after every walk because of all the mud.
