Weekends
This weekend I walked daily and noticed some green in my surroundings. Sure it's algae and moss and weeds but it's green and beautiful to behold! Also some stray spring bulbs are blooming on the hillside, crocuses to be exact, but too far to photo.
My weekend was uneventful and yet full. Yesterday we had homemade wings for dinner and what made them special was not sharing them with others. Sounds silly but it was fun just the two of us digging in. To offset the wings, we had a healthy vegetable platter. Oh and sugar cookies :)
Today after Mass and lunch at home, we headed out for another walkabout. Dinner is "breakfast for dinner" theme. Eggs, asparagus and toast and if I'm lucky in my freezer search some turkey breakfast sausages. Oh and some more sugar cookies :)
There was: knitting, reading, writing, talking, laughing, playing with Frodo, list making and goal setting.
How was your weekend?

Mmmm sugar cookies. !!! Your day sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteI walked 2 miles alone today and was happy for the peaceful solitude. I prefer to walk alone and so many want to walk with me. (Neighbors SHaron and Helen and Abby and Linda) I actually texted Sharon but she was too slow responding, (an hour later) and I was half done. Isn't that awful?
Now I want a cookie!
ReplyDeleteIt's still raining here today and I am sitting here drinking a cup of tea trying to figure out how to put my skirt pattern together, three pieces and I'm stuck on the third! Casing what?!
sharing those cookies???? (can't beg...I made strawberry shortcake!!!) I love finding new things popping up every day outside....:)
ReplyDeletenoticing bits of green here too...buds are showing up on branches!
ReplyDeleteA good and full weekend here as well. Hannah celebrated her birthday with her friends yesterday, which means the morning was spent preparing and the afternoon, evening was spent celebrating. Today was quiet, but filled with good things. Leftover cake, knitting... :-)
ReplyDeleteWe found bits of green in the woods today...finally!!! Have a wonderful week Karen.
ReplyDeleteYes, green means spring! Sounds like a pleasant weekend - just the two of you. How nice. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteGreat weekend! I like how you offset the wings with some veggies. LOL! It's so very nice to see some green here and there. I found some tulips in my back yard and wanted to do a dance.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds LOVELY and yay for greenery and bulbs finally!
ReplyDeletei'd say spring is coming for you! love wings!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure sugar cookies are a healthy cookie!
ReplyDeleteIt is sunny here today and is supposed to be in the mid-70s! Will be out for a walk after dinner tonight with Dan. Can't wait. I'm baking bread this morning and am tempted to bake cookies. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are catching glimpses of the green you have been craving! It's so very different here: lilac, irises, wisteria, poppies - crazy right? - co-habiting with primroses and tulips. I wish I could wind back and start all over again!
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you and your family.
Stephanie
It look me 31 years to realize it but I LOVE wings, homemade are the best! What a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteChicken wings are the best and not having to share them is even better! I'm happy when I get to eat my food while it's hot. Love the splashes of green as spring is slowly making it's arrival around the country.
ReplyDeleteYour weekends and your walks always seem so amazing to me through your posts and pictures. I read this post and my hankering for asparagus, sausage, chicken wings and sugar cookies. Oh sugar cookies with that easter glass sprinkled sugar!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the best kind of weekend. Our April is so green compared to yours!
ReplyDeleteI love moss...it always reminds me of velvet.
