Currently on the Needles
As promised, I cast on my new socks over the past weekend, still toying with the idea of keeping the ribbing going down the leg of the sock, or not...can't decide yet. Love the color repetition! I also finished my shawl and posted yesterday. I am thrilled with how the shawl turned out :)
I am reading The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer and I needed two chapters read to get into the story line. So far it's okay, I'm hoping that I will become more engaged with the characters and the plot. Still early days though. I also picked up the new issues of Vegetarian Time and the Yoga Journal for something to flip through while ignoring the heat wave we are having here in PA.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

Beautiful colour combination.
ReplyDeleteI love the color combo too Karen. I was playing around on Ravelry yesterday looking at sock patterns, I really need to cast on a pair since I am a little tired of dish cloths [the cotton is starting to hurt my hands].
ReplyDeleteI love the stripes! What fun socks they will be.
ReplyDeletegreat colors on the socks!! no shawl on the needles, yet?????!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove these colours - and your scarf is beautiful - hope you find some cool moments xx
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the name of that yarn. It is soooo the colors of the Maleficent that I remember from Disney's Sleeping Beauty.
ReplyDeleteI also picked up Yoga Journal at my library, although it's a back issue, just thumbing though it is relaxing! I also want to check out The Interestings.
ReplyDeleteOh your shawl is gorgeous!!! Can't wait to see what you do with the socks.:)
ReplyDeleteGreat sock yarn Karen! I love the stripes. I would only do the ribbing for a little while, then do stockinette.
ReplyDeleteI love the sock yarn!!!! Beautiful. I am almost finished with The Interestings. It took me a few chapters to really get into it....but now I am flying through it and don't want it to end!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun socks! The perfect summer knit......although I am sure I will see another shawl on your needles very soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe sock looks great! Congratulations on finishing the shawl it looks beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely colors! Heat wave here too but I just saw an incredible lightning flash so maybe we'll at least get some thunderstorms...
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the socks! And I think ribbing all the way down would be really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am still in awe of the shawl. Interestings……must look it up
ReplyDeleteGreat stripey colors. I hope my sick yarn does that.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun colors! I think ribbing all the way down would be great :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the way that yarn self-stripes. Great colors too. Ribbing all the way down would look great! Happy knitting!
ReplyDeleteLove that color combo! The black just really turns on the other colors. That shawl......WOW! It turned out lovely!
ReplyDeleteI just moved from the MD/wash/Balti corridor to the heart of Texas 2 years ago and I miss that area so much. Eventually , planning on getting back up to the NE! I know those humid and hot days up there are to day from! Stay cool!
That is really great sock yarn! I can't wait to see the whole sock knit up. Knowing how fast things fly off your needles that won't be long now. Lately I've just been reading bits of The Atlantic when I get a chance. However those bits keep me content :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yarn. I have heard mixed reviews on the Interestings. I am not sure it is a book I want to read. Would love to hear what you think of it when you are finished.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit envious of your heat wave! Happy summer reading and knitting to you, Karen!
ReplyDeleteLoving the colours Karen.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours of that yarn.
ReplyDeleteThose are going to be fun socks! I just started Lady Kina and am reading a book about the Civil War for book club and it's very slow going.
ReplyDeleteI love the socks and the shawl, Karen! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the stripe colors in your sock. I'm flying through a plain sock while watching soccer.
ReplyDeleteLovely socks, great colours (:
ReplyDeleteLove the self striping yarn! The colors in your yarn are really pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt still amazes me how that sock yarn works. Continuing the rib does make a nice snug sock. Happy July 4th, I hope that you keep nice and cool.
