Imagine When Shawl Complete


I finished this shawl a few weeks ago and was delayed sharing the results but here it is.  I enjoyed the construction of the shawl, short row shaping and asymmetry were paired together to create an almost triangular shawl.

I wish that the shawl was bigger, much bigger.  I usually do not block garter stitch shawls aggressively because I love the garter stitch squish factor.  However, this shawl needed to be blocked for the length needed to wrap around comfortably.  Once blocked I was pleased with the shawl :)

I wonder if a thicker yarn would have been a better choice?  If I do make this shawl again, that is what I would chose-a heavy fingering weight.  I loved how the pattern was written, and the construction was fun to watch unfold.

    The weight is just right, I'd say -- light enough to bring to mind a pale blue sky with thin, soft clouds. :)

    WOw. I like the shawl a whole lot more in your light blue color choice. IN the dark purple...not so much. I've added it to my queue

    You must have the most amazing knit wardrobe! This one is very pretty and such an interesting pattern. I bit the bullet and ordered yarn for Hitofude; did not need another project, but oh well.

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
