my aunt stitched me this years ago |
Well, hello there! I thought I'd share with you the CLEAN counter and coffee table, because it "ain't" gonna to look like that shortly. My son is arriving later today and my daughter Tuesday night.
My weekend was:
quiet and slow :: I added rows to the scrap blanket:: ate many left overs and created room in the refrigerator :: enjoyed daily walks :: went to Mass :: gearing up with the Christmas music at full volume :: started a knit for me :: finished a knit :: made chocolate chip cookies with nuts :: dinner out :: finished a book and started a new one :: enjoying a subscription to Magnificat (recommended by Jen, thank you!) ::
How was your weekend?
Wonderful pictures, yeah I clean and things dont stay that way very long as I have a 2 1/2 yr old living with us, lol. It has been spent decluttering and cross stitching.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy having all you babies home Karen.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
Your kitchen is lovely, Karen. And I loved seeing Frodo all cozied up there on the sofa. I know you are going to have a great time with family...thinking of your aunt during this season.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!
ReplyDeleteMine wasn't as quiet as I like them to be as we had visits at home but still managed to do some knitting and sewing :) You have a lovely kitchen, really does make you want to start baking pies! :)
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Wet and cold and I stayed in with my cold and sore throat! It sounds as though you had a lovely weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend Karen, especially the chocolate chip cookies and all that knitting. I started a new knit too, not for me though, for the little man. Enjoy having your kiddos home :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Christmas music, don't you just love it! Ours was a mixture of all things nice too. x http://adeolainwonderland.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/weekending.html

May your week be full of fun and laughter!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I have Christmas music playing right now, I love it all! I've been enjoying my subscription to Magnificat for about a year, glad you enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing about your picture of your clean kitchen. It's like that here, too. I think I am doing things backwards. I clean everything before various kids show up for a visit, but within five minutes of them coming through the door it looks like a wind storm blew through the house. Especially the kitchen. I think it might be better to do the heavy duty cleaning after they leave!
ReplyDeleteyour home looks so inviting! and oh how I LOVE clean kitchen counters, even if they are always short-lived. I know you must be looking forward to having your kids home with you this week- hope you have a lovely time!
ReplyDelete(I'm starting with the music already, too~ feeling very ready to celebrate the season)

Your home looks so neat and tidy. Feels like even on it's worse days, it is probably miles ahead of mine. LOL! Wishing you a great visit with your kids.

I wonder if my home will ever be neat and tidy! Sounds like a good calm before the storm holiday week. But now you are all ready to hang out with your family. Have a wonderful time with your kids. I'm glad you're fitting some knitting in :)
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen! We are also enjoying Christmas music at our house. You all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy having your kids back home for a few days!
ReplyDeleteYour home looks picture perfect! Glad you had time to knit.
ReplyDeletei knitted and ripped and knitted and ripped. Im finally in the right groove with the right yarn.....
This weekend: played Christmas Carols! Took care of foster kittens...
Love that sweet stitching at the top of the post! Makes me want to sit and stitch while I watch the snow falling outside. :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like an absolutely wonderful weekend. I had to work both days during the weekend unfortunately, but we had lots of sunshine so it was still lovely :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful kitchen, with the light coming in through your window -- so warm and inviting! I am sure it must smell as good as it looks. :)
ReplyDeleteFrodo looks cute snuggled up on the couch! :)
