My reading this week continues to be the David Sedaris book that I photoed last Wednesday. I am overall enjoying the read, some chapters (essays) are funnier than others. I am amused most of the time. While visiting my family, my sister and I shopped in Barnes and Nobles and to my delight I saw this magazine displayed. I've seen this new publication on instagram feeds and once I did a quick flip through, the magazine had to be mine. Bella Grace is filled with poetry, essays and lovely photography that evokes personal reflections.
My knitting is the same as last week as well. I am knitting the cowl, the blanket, and my husband's socks. So why not start something else? Yep, I cast on these little holiday stockings that are my own pattern. I am into the holiday spirit!
What are you knitting and reading this week?

Thank you so much Karen for the link to your stocking and the yarn you are using, I think it is so pretty and would love to have some of my own.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!
That green is one of my favorite colors! I can't wait to see the finished stocking. Maybe it won't be too difficult for a beginner....?
ReplyDeleteThose stockings are going to be adorable! What do you plan on doing with them? I've toyed with the idea of knitting big stockings for all of us, but so far have not taken the leap. Maybe I need to start looking for some nice patterns...
ReplyDeleteOhhh I love your stockings! I need to make some more....I made some a few years ago to make a garland for our big window. The other windows need some too! And that magazine....I've seen it on Instagram too and want it! I need to make a trip to Barnes and Noble now :-)
ReplyDeleteSo many projects you're working on! I'm curious about your stockings :)
ReplyDeleteOh adorable- so many projects! Fancy meeting another SLP here, I had no idea!
ReplyDeleteOf course you need to cast on something else! I know I would....
ReplyDeleteLove all of the projects...so many nice things in the making. Looking forward to seeing your stockings. Great color!
ReplyDeleteYour yarn looks very soft and special! I'm starting to feel the festive mood too ;-)

Heh, the more have on the go, the more you want to make, I find! Looks like you'll need the peace and relaxation of the magazine with all that on the go :) That stocking is very cute, though, so definitely worth it!
ReplyDeletefun reading! :) and cute socks! This season is so special!! :)) God bless you today!
ReplyDeleteyay for casting on even more ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am currently knitting a shawl for my exhusband and am thinking about a pair of mitts for myself and/or christmas ornaments next. I just finished a new hat that I've been wearing every day but can't show off online yet because it's a test knit and today my Ravello was finally dry so I could take it off the blocking board. I am reading The Final Empire and I am not yet decided how much I like it
The stockings are wonderful! I wish I had seen them earlier. Can't add another thing to the knitting list. I'm happy to hear that I'm not alone with many projects going at once.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour for the little stockings, they are a real delight.
ReplyDeleteI am still reading Simplify by Bill Hybels and am cross stitching a Home Sweet Home piece.
ReplyDeleteHoliday stockings, yay! :)
ReplyDeleteI put the holiday stocking pattern in my Ravelry library. They are adorable. I will be trying these in the future!
ReplyDeleteLove the stockings. I'm planning on finally starting with knitting some holiday decorations this weekend.

Beautiful stocking, love the colour. Your magazine intrigues me, might have to take a look next time I am at the book store. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI recognize those little stockings...mine will be going on the tree very soon, when I get round to putting it up...today would have been perfect (nice cool weather) but I mowed the lawns instead!
ReplyDeleteI love that color green for a stocking! Enjoy your holiday knitting!
ReplyDeleteI've heard of that mag, but haven't had a chance to look into it yet! Happy reading and knitting, Karen!
ReplyDeletei really love the mustardy colour of your yarn !!
ReplyDeleteOh so adorable.. Not that we live about 90 minutes from most big box type stores - which is all fine, except one - I do miss Barnes and Noble - I used to go sit and have coffee while checking out the beautiful magazines.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and thank you for sharing the links to your patterns.
I heard of a good book today:What Alice forgot.....
ReplyDeleteHmmm I may pick it up
Even though you are working on so many more projects that I am you will have them all finished before I even think about finishing my current project! Which is good and bad. I see your finished projects and then I want to make that too!
ReplyDeleteCute socks! It's so awesome that you created your own pattern! Wish I could do that...:)
ReplyDeleteI love Bella Grace, it is an awesome magazine. Your knitting skill continues to amaze me. I am still working on a sweater that I began last year, LOL! My problem is that I am a bit like a golden retriever, I get all excited about something until an new shiny object is dangled in front of me...then off I go! Have a wonderful weekend, Karen!
