Sunbeams
Yesterday I walked by the front room and stopped to admire the sunbeams on the sofa. These days seem to be filled with cloudy days. Day after day they arrive and stay, leaving me feeling ho hum. To my delight, the sun peeked and changed the way I felt. There was a spring in my step and a smile on my face.
Our walk in the afternoon was a sunglasses wearing walk AND a non long john wearing walk. What a treat! Frodo enjoyed not being cold as well. How funny that 28 degrees feel like a heat wave, but it did :)
Over all, the week has been tranquil and peaceful. I've had a bit of anxiety but so far I'm firming squashing it. I'm eating healthy, I'm walking and yes, the tiny bit of yoga I do each day helps. When I'm proactive, I feel powerful.
Have a good weekend. Get outside and breathe some fresh air!!
Those little bits of sun poking through the clouds on winter days is so nice. It lifts the soul.
ReplyDeleteWe are looking forward to our trail walk this afternoon. It always leaves us feeling energized.
That sunshine does make a difference, doesn't it! I understand exactly where you are coming from.
ReplyDeleteAND...Yes...when we are proactive we do feel powerful! We are in charge of our bodies instead of allowing them to be in charge of us!
Love the photo!
Its nice to get out and about, I have enjoyed a few walks this week.
ReplyDeletesunbeams are my favourite things...especially those that surprise us and break through grey clouds, even for just a moment or two. Have a wonderful weekend Karen .
ReplyDeleteOh, I love sunbeams in the livingroom, the bedroom, everywhere! They can really brighten your day. Have a great weekend, Karen!
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting on the sun to shine here and I think it might show itself soon, the clouds are breaking.
ReplyDeleteI love this time of year, but have discovered I need the bright sun to shine and least one during the week or else it makes my week so very long!
I also found myself wanting to eat more even though I was not hungry, not good.
I hope you and Frodo enjoy some warmer weather this weekend and can get out more. I did hear that the east coast is suppose to be below normal for the end of January so maybe I'll get a little snow? ;)
I so agree about being proactive. The sunshine this week has been lovely - I'll take it whenever I can. Funny how our perceptions of temperature change through the year. I always marvel at being freezing when the house is below 69 in winter but come April and we'll be ready for t-shirts at that temp!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
good advice to go outside! :))) sunshine is a huge mood changer for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how a little bit of sun can brighten your mood instantly. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who takes pictures of her sunbeams lol ;)
ReplyDeleteIt takes a few days of grey skies to appreciate those beautiful sunbeams! I know I have looked for them day after day the past few weeks. THey are here and I am enjoying them too!
ReplyDeleteHope you weekend is full of sunshine!
I've recently noticed that around 1:30-2pm the sun shines in through our lounge window onto my chair. I've found myself timing a cup of tea around it so I can sit down and enjoy the light and warmth lol. Hope you have a good weekend :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful light...winter light, on that gorgy red sofa!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the outdoors :)
I always love taking walks on brisk days when the sun is shining. It just lifts my spirits, and keeps Popeye happy! Glad you are fighting off the anxiety, Karen!
ReplyDeleteWe had our first sunny day with beautiful blue skies today and it was glorious!! It was still a bit cold, but the sunshine made such a huge difference. It is supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow morning, but some friends and I are going to go walking. The plan is 10 miles... We should be nice and warm by the time we get done. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
Spring will be here, dear, before you know it. I remember when I used to dread the long dark days but so glad that I finally overcame it with the Lord's help.. Sun does make all the difference..
ReplyDeleteTake care, my friend. xo
Beautiful sun. We also have finally had a few sunny days. Today was unseasonably warm for January - near 50 degrees. I smile at your non-long john walking days. I also celebrate those walking days. A deep breath of fresh air and wind on my face makes everything better. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteSunshine is wonderful! We had a little bit this week but not enough, I am hoping for more this weekend. We should have a few of those warm winter days over the weekend and I am looking forward to them.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend Karen.
