Currently on the Needles
Do you see how close I am to being done with that orange sweater? I am getting a little giddy about that. I did undo the bottom edging a few days ago, I didn't care for the knitted off edge in garter stitch-the edge was too stiff and I just knew that after blocking it would still curl. A simple garter stitch edging in the same needle size did the trick. I'm quick pleased with that decision. Today I will, yes will have that second sleeve done.
Since my daughter was in town over the weekend and I rejiggered the body of the sweater, I haven't knit much on my cowl. But I did get a few rows in. That tiny wee bit of yak fiber makes this a wonderful knitting project!
I'm reading the same books so I did not photograph them again. I'm nearing the end of Mr Penumbra's 24 hour Bookstore which I love. It has geekiness and book love, a perfect combination. Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm is a walk down memory lane for me. Each scene I remember and love revisiting a classic I read long ago.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

ReplyDeleteThat orange sweater is going to be so much fun to wear. What a great color for winter! I am knitting on a Red Robin Shawlette, another garter stitch shawl that I am making up as I go along, and a "Nice Ribbed Sock" by Glenna C. I am reading a book I've been meaning to read for a long time, If on a Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino. It is a labyrinth of a story. I enjoyed Mr. Penumbra and his bookshop.
