Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
My weekend:
-our daughter was home for a three day visit
-we shopped and went out for dinner
-there was a viewing of Annie (1982) lots of singing and humming along
-running out of coffee each morning even with a full pot
-mini cupcakes with icing and heart sprinkles!
-deciding to rip out the bottom of my orange sweater, I'm not liking how it looks
-Dr. Who and Gilmore Girls was in the mix as well
-walking and hearing the birds, they think it's spring, silly little ones.
-more snow is coming!
-laundry, reading, phone calls with relatives and menu planning
How was your weekend?
Your blanket looks so colorful and cozy. Yum...cup cakes. You are lucky that you are getting snow. It just rains here...water skiing over here!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was sad to hear that you found it necessary to rip out the bottom of your orange sweater, Karen. But I totally get how one feels about a piece of yarn work they are doing when we don't like how it looks!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had time with your daughter over the weekend. Working on wedding plans?
It really was a joy to hear the birds singing the last couple of days.
Have a wonderful week, Karen.
I'm glad you had some time with your daughter Karen and you had cupcakes too? That is a good weekend. Snow? I think you must have some of my birds because it felt like a spring weekend here, 70 degrees.
ReplyDeleteAh I love sleeping over at my Mom's, feels like when I was a kid! Too bad about ripping a part of your sweater, but what has to be done, has to be done! Have a great week, Karen!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to spend time with your daughter, making plans I presume for the big day. Sounds like an idyllic weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh I think I need me some of the Gilmore Girls, I haven't watched that in ages! A quiet ocean themed one here this weekend.x

Your weekend sounds relaxing and lovely. We had very warm temperatures and the birds here are being tricked into thinking it is time to court. It looks like winter has been canceled in Utah.
ReplyDelete3 days with your daughter must have been lovely !!! Running out of coffee and mini cupcakes are sure signs of wonderful together time....
ReplyDeleteIt was a fabulous three whole days :)
DeleteSounds like a great visit with your daughter! Is that your scrap afghan? WOW! You've come a long way on it. I have discovered I have an abundance of scrap yarns that I need to do SOMETHING with...
ReplyDeleteWas a beautiful spring "like" weekend here as well!
and....your sock yarn blanket! it's looking great!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice well-spent weekend you had Karen. It sounds like you are ready to take on the week - and MORE snow! We have it falling from the sky here too..... Will it ever end?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful visit with your daughter! My girls and I are all big fans of The Gilmore Girls. :) I love the afghan, it looks so colorful and inviting! We are home again after visiting our oldest daughter in Dubai, I am trying to get over the jet lag. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is coming along quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteI love how colorful your blanket is!!
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was great, lots of good stuff, good friends, and a visit to an open house at a gallery that made me want to paint so badly that my fingers are itching :)
I can imagine you have lovely art skills!!
DeleteThe blanket looks great! I haven't seen Annie in a while, but always enjoyed the movie. Even though Miss Hannigan scares me! LOL
ReplyDeleteWeekends with kiddos is just the best... until there are grandchildren. Ha! You still have plenty of time to enjoy your children... I do kind of miss those days spent with Amanda or Zack (they think they are second fiddle now... not really so, but the moments are very rare when it is just "us" anymore.
ReplyDeleteI love those "relaxed" times, too... Wish we could feel that way every day. =)
I'm not sure why, but your blog isn't updating on my sidebar... I'm going to maybe have to re-load it. Anyway, I MISSED a couple of posts! Hope you are warm and safe... I hear another cold front is coming through! blessings ~ tanna

seems like there are some blogs who are having hiccups this past week, I wonder why?
DeleteMy girls loved the 80's Annie. With temps in the 50's and 60's lately, I can see why the birds are confused about which season we'e in. It's confusing me!
ReplyDeleteyes the birds have returned to silence now that the snow reappeared. Poor little ones!
DeleteSounds just lovely Karen. How wonderful to spend three days with our daughter, I know how much you must have enjoyed that. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDelete"your" :)
Deletemy weekend included knitting & gilmore girls as well :)
ReplyDeletewe are twins!
DeleteOH I wish mine included my daughter at home...but no.
ReplyDeleteI spent time at a friend's pottery party. I made a turtle! It will be fired and glazed and given to me in a few weeks.
I will put the turtle in my garden I think.
We also spent time out to dinner with old friends for deep dish pizza. mmmmmmmm
Your blanket is really growing! I've had a glorious weekend with a bunch of wonderful women. Just what I needed to recharge my batteries!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd love to hear some birds! I only heard a crow the other day, and it was mildly depressing. Sounds like you had a good weekend :)
ReplyDeleteMost of my weekend was spent in the er with my granddaughter. Love the blanket you are stitching.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your granddaughter is all better now, that must have been scary.
DeleteThat sounds like a great weekend - apart from the knitting problems! I hope you get that sorted soon. xx
