Are you stunned by that snow in the background? I was and still am. Here I am a winter lover by heart and have slowly adjusted to the arrival of spring and all of it's promises only to watch a snowstorm all day yesterday. Crazy weather. Today and tomorrow will be quite sloppy as it quickly melts and we are once again facing forward towards marching into spring.
This week I've been focusing on these socks, my goal is to have them done by the Easter weekend. This is an achievable goal if I focus.... I think I can!
My reading is the same. I'm in the midst of The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry and Pollyanna. I do love Pollyanna, she seems to see the bright side of life. As for A.J. Fikry, I'm adoring ALL of the novel title references and plots and characters that are sprinkled throughout the book. If you are an avid reader, you might love this book.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

Oh no, not more snow... I really long for warmer days now, I am ready to be outside and garden! Nice looking socks!
ReplyDeleteYour snowy photo must surely be an April Fool's joke???!!
ReplyDeletei got caught in a hailstorm riding my bike yesterday!!! Freaky weather...Your socks looks perfect against the winter scene.
ReplyDeleteI know you will get them finished by Easter. You could probably even make another pair too! It was in the mid 70's yesterday and tomo it will be in the 40's with some rain snow mix. So I almost feel your pain...
ReplyDeletewe had that last week, snow and then was gone! blessed Holy Week to you and a Joyous Easter!
ReplyDeleteNot more snow, we have had terrible weather too not snow, but wind. Beautiful socks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful socks! We have had spring here all month but last night it must have gotten close to freezing because I woke to the sound of the big fan turbines going in the orchards that keep air moving to prevent freezing of the tender apple blossoms! I am thankful we don't have any snow now but would have loved some a couple months ago!
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather, lovely socks ; )
ReplyDeleteI'm hurrying on the spring-- flowers and sunshine and green grass are what I want to see! But getting winter's last hurrah is sometimes nice-- glad you were able to get some of it! (I'm glad you got it instead of me ;) )
ReplyDeleteI hope spring decides to come your way soon. It's been a long winter for you.
ReplyDeletesnow????! crazy is right!!! those are great guy-socks; i find it sometimes hard to find those subtle colors (of course, I love them for ME socks, too!!!!) You're easily going to make that deadline!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I am stunned that there is snow in your world and I am just a wee bit envious!
ReplyDeleteFinishing your socks by the weekend? Oh, you've got this!
I wish we were getting snow! Sadly, I think winter is well and truly done here-its' supposed to get above 80 in my neck of the woods today!
ReplyDeleteOoh all that snow. How lovely Karen. Perfect sock knitting weather. I've resigned myself now that we aren't going to have any sticking snow this year, maybe next winter. I hope we don't get any now because I've just been planting out lots of little plants in the garden...I would hate to loose them.
ReplyDeleteOh and I love Pollyanna too. Ahmad always tells me that I'm a Pollyanna but recently I feel I've been letting her name down. Although I've watched the film with Haley Mills hundreds of times, I've never read the book. I must give it a go.
I haven't done any knitting for a while and can't wait to get on with some but I've been reading quite a bit, I'm currently really enjoying The Tenderness of 'The Wolves' by Stef Penney (not to be confused with the film "tenderness of the wolves") I'm really enjoying it so far, I think she writes beautifully.
Keep warm.

Oh my, how I love the Pollyanna movie. I have never read it, but will now add it to my list of must reads.
ReplyDeleteBrr that looks chilly! At least it's good weather for warm woolly socks :)
ReplyDeleteSpring is just taking her sweet old time this year, eh? I have to say I am glad the snow stayed south of us :) We are enjoying sunshine and warmer temps today. You can easily finish those socks by the weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYour socks look warm and cozy against the snow backdrop.
ReplyDeleteHaving learned through blogging just how long snow can last, no I am not surprised, but I am glad that it is not here and I am wishing for you that it will be gone very soon!!! xx
ReplyDeleteI sure hope we don't get another snow!!!! I love your socks! Everytime I look at the sock yarn I bought months ago I keep thinking I will give it a shot. I'm so scared!!! :) Thanks for all the words of encouragment you leave for me.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your socks. They are wonderful and dark and in great contrast to the snow! Here's hoping your spring arrives soon. IM reading blogs. and knitting boot toppers
