Currently on the Needles
This week I've been knitting two projects. The first is a citron shawl that is super easy and my knitting while reading project. I am enjoying this knit and the simple stockinette stitches. My other project is a second hitofude cardigan with long sleeves. I really enjoyed knitting this sweater the first time and now that I'm repeating the pattern, it's like visiting with an old dear friend.
My reading has been the same as last week, I'm reading The Shipping News and the plot is slowly evolving. My other read is Pollyanna and by the time you read this I'll have finished this book. The novel is uplifting and Pollyanna talks to the townspeople of being "glad". She of course wins over ever single person and resolves all of their problems. This book would be a great one to read to children.
What are you knitting and reading this week?
Joining Ginny and Frontier Dreams
The colors of both the shawl and cardigan are beautiful!! I believe I have watched the movie Pollyanna but have never read the book. But it does sound good! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth projects look so pretty! You have done it once again and picked the perfect colors!
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful. I do love that shawl so pretty with the color changes.
ReplyDeleteI gasped when I saw your Citron, it's beautiful Karen. Is this one you're keeping or is it a gift?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects! I really like your Citron.
ReplyDeleteI have knitted it once, but it turned out too small...
You're making great progress on your knitting projects! I somehow found myself joining the hapalong KAL on the Knit British forum on Ravelry. I'm making the half Hansel Hap, and am so enthralled I haven't touched anything else since I cast on last Friday.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colour choices! Isn't Pollyanna just lovely? I am planning to re-read The Secret Garden as our local college is doing a production of it in a few months.
ReplyDeleteI tried reading The Shipping News a few weeks ago. I desperately wanted to love it but I just couldn't get into it. Oh well. I just finished reading The Fault in Our Stars which I loved.

ReplyDeletelovely!!! I love your knitting and colour choices! I need to read some Pollyanna again sometime! I have a vintage one that I really enjoyed! * Also thanks so much for your kind comments recently. XO
ReplyDeleteShould you be tempted to read Porter's sequel to Pollyanna, I would advise not to. It's just not as well written and makes you like the characters a little less.
ReplyDeleteI liked the movie version of The Shipping News, although I haven't read the source material.
noted and will not be reading, thanks!!
