Weekends

My weekend was full and interesting.  Early in the morning on Saturday we took Frodo to the vet because he was feeling poorly.  We walked out with medicine and today he is acting a tad bit better, I think the spring grasses are irritating to him.  He has been hiding under the ottoman or in the photo above under the back porch stairs.  If he was a human he could do with some therapy!  He is easily upset and everyone at the vet hospital knows his gentle sensitive soul.

We also hauled our unusual recyclable "stuff" to a recycling fundraiser only to arrive and find out it was canceled.  So, we drove around our little town and the adjacent ones finding recycling places to avoid taking back the "stuff".  While initially we were irked, we had great fun, googling on the phone for information and going for drive together :)  AND I saved the earth from garbage.

Both our daughter and her fiance were here tasting lots of wedding cake, I do love that job.  We also made a trip to a bookstore and once again, I perused and browsed and pondered the selections.  I believe I could visit a bookstore every single day (as well as a yarn store).

Today we were gifted with glorious blue skies, warm weather and finally it feels like spring. Laundry is almost done and everyone has left.  My husband and I are looking forward to being the two of us again, eating simple meals that are unplanned (no cooking??) and getting back to ordinary days.

How was your weekend?

  1. Poor Frodo. :-( I am glad the meds seem to be helping him and the vet took good care of your baby. We enjoyed a great day yesterday, going for a bike ride with friends. Today was sunny and beautiful and we were able to spent most of the day outside. Makes me happy. :-)

  9. I'm sorry Frodo isn't feeling well. It's aways such a worry when they are sick. If only they could talk and tell us what's wrong.

Your weekend sounds like it was very nice. I have spent the weekend intentionally taking it easy. I have to drive to my mom's in Spokane Wednesday, then on Friday we are flying to Chicago to visit my brother. I decided I should recharge my batteries before the trip. There has been lots of knitting, watching British shows on my iPad, some walks, and some reading. Oh, and some chocolate and tea. :-)

  13. Simple meals, no cooking.... bliss. It;s Springlike (ish) here at the moment too - lots of sunshine but also rather windy at times! It suits me as I don't like heat. We're due a mini heatwave at the end of the week I've heard, so I've got my fan packed in my handbag already. Hope Frodo feels better soon xx

  15. Sending good thoughts for Frodo. If only they could speak and let us know what the real problem is. Spring is hard when you have a sensitive nose.

  26. We had a good weekend, too, as we got to see the local GK for the first time in a couple of weeks. Sang in choir yesterday and then relaxed for the rest of the day. So sorry to hear that Frodo is under the weather and hope he snaps out of it soon. Have a good week!
