Weekends

in the comment section with a link to your blog.
My weekend was full and interesting. Early in the morning on Saturday we took Frodo to the vet because he was feeling poorly. We walked out with medicine and today he is acting a tad bit better, I think the spring grasses are irritating to him. He has been hiding under the ottoman or in the photo above under the back porch stairs. If he was a human he could do with some therapy! He is easily upset and everyone at the vet hospital knows his gentle sensitive soul.
We also hauled our unusual recyclable "stuff" to a recycling fundraiser only to arrive and find out it was canceled. So, we drove around our little town and the adjacent ones finding recycling places to avoid taking back the "stuff". While initially we were irked, we had great fun, googling on the phone for information and going for drive together :) AND I saved the earth from garbage.
Both our daughter and her fiance were here tasting lots of wedding cake, I do love that job. We also made a trip to a bookstore and once again, I perused and browsed and pondered the selections. I believe I could visit a bookstore every single day (as well as a yarn store).
Today we were gifted with glorious blue skies, warm weather and finally it feels like spring. Laundry is almost done and everyone has left. My husband and I are looking forward to being the two of us again, eating simple meals that are unplanned (no cooking??) and getting back to ordinary days.
How was your weekend?
Poor Frodo. :-( I am glad the meds seem to be helping him and the vet took good care of your baby. We enjoyed a great day yesterday, going for a bike ride with friends. Today was sunny and beautiful and we were able to spent most of the day outside. Makes me happy. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Frodo is feeling better...and that your 'stuff' made it to recycling!!! Sounds like you had a busy weekend and are ready to chill and enjoy the warm spring weather outside your door. Have a great week Karen
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend - tasting wedding cake and browsing bookstores! Glad that Frodo is recovering. You are a great example to us all by making sure your "stuff" got recycled!
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Frodo, I do hope he is completely better soon, it's almost time for him to protect the yard from the bunnies.
ReplyDeleteI love cake tasting day!
Poor Frodo hope he is back to himself real quick. Books are something I so enjoy collecting and can't go past a bookshop.. My weekend was in the garden but both fires on today a tad chilly.
ReplyDeletehoping that sweet boy is feeling better! .....and books? did you actually leave a bookstore empty-handed??? do tell!
ReplyDeleteSo good that Frodo is feeling a tad better :) my doggie is quite old, so I know how unnerving it could be when they don't feel well :(
ReplyDeleteI hope mr. Frodo feels better soon.... Maybe a little wedding cake would cheer him up :)
ReplyDeleteBookstores are always do fun to visit!
I'm sorry Frodo isn't feeling well. It's aways such a worry when they are sick. If only they could talk and tell us what's wrong.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds like it was very nice. I have spent the weekend intentionally taking it easy. I have to drive to my mom's in Spokane Wednesday, then on Friday we are flying to Chicago to visit my brother. I decided I should recharge my batteries before the trip. There has been lots of knitting, watching British shows on my iPad, some walks, and some reading. Oh, and some chocolate and tea. :-)
So glad to hear Frodo is feeling better. I love ordinary day. I wish I had more of them.
ReplyDeleteaw poor Frodo, glad he's feeling a bit better. I blogged about my weekend yesterday (http://thesoaringsheep.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/weekending.html), we have got some more paint for decorating the house next weekend and spent some time planting onions on our allotment :)
ReplyDeleteHope little gentle Frodo is feeling better. Your weekend sounds lovely. Happy new week, Karen xx
ReplyDeleteSimple meals, no cooking.... bliss. It;s Springlike (ish) here at the moment too - lots of sunshine but also rather windy at times! It suits me as I don't like heat. We're due a mini heatwave at the end of the week I've heard, so I've got my fan packed in my handbag already. Hope Frodo feels better soon xx
ReplyDeleteSome words and pictures on my weekend here http://musingsandbemusings.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/that-was-weekend.html
Hope Frodo is getting better. My weekend was lovely but today I am back to work and will be longing for the simplicity of my weekend days.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts for Frodo. If only they could speak and let us know what the real problem is. Spring is hard when you have a sensitive nose.
ReplyDeleteI agree on the bookstore and yarn shop! Hopefully Frodo is better real soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good weekend-I know I could go in a bookstore or yarn shop every day and be satisfied! Glad to hear Frodo is starting to feel better.
ReplyDeletepoor frodo. wedding cake tasting... yum <3
ReplyDeleteI lOVE ordinary days. I Do . They are my favorite. Not knowing what the day will bring, unexpected joys and the time to treasure the ordinary. The simplicity of making a meal, making a bed, Knitting some rows and enjoying blogs.....
ReplyDeleteHugs to Frodo
I hope Frodo is in better spirits. Your weekend sounds both interesting and fun! Happy Monday!

I hope Frodo is feeling a little more himself now? What a lovely weekend, how good that you were able to turn a bad situation into a good one and have fun to boot. Hope you have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Frodo is feeling a bit better. It's so sad when they are feeling ill.
ReplyDeleteI volunteer if you need additional wedding cake tasters. It's a hard job, but I am willing to make the sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteHope Frodo is feeling better today. I love browsing the bookstore, and often do it with a cup of tea in hand :)
ReplyDeleteI do hope Frodo's feeling better. I did a lot of knitting this weekend and also walked our pug Andy!
ReplyDeleteWe had a good weekend, too, as we got to see the local GK for the first time in a couple of weeks. Sang in choir yesterday and then relaxed for the rest of the day. So sorry to hear that Frodo is under the weather and hope he snaps out of it soon. Have a good week!
