My weekend was kind of nice, was yours? As I sit here typing this post, the sun is shining outside and the birds are singing away. All of the trees and bushes are green, even the ones around our house that the deer mowed down through the winter. I believe they will look completely healthy green by the wedding. I hope so, I really don't want to rip all of them out. But then again, I don't want dead bushes in my yard.
Fingers crossed!!
Our daughter was visiting for the weekend and we got out and walked. Frodo was thrilled to be outside as well.
The bulk of the painting is finished. PHEW. My husband did the majority of the work, God bless him. He is a driven possessed painter; he worked until 9 p.m. sometimes. So now we have those spots where paint is not supposed to be and someone has to fix that (not me??). Also he is still repairing part of the ceiling in the family room where the taping bubbled. We were talking about how maybe we are getting too old for this kind of home maintenance, the aches and pains. However, a good night's sleep did wonders for the recovery time. I am still sore, especially my hands, because of my RA. In a few days, I should be back to normal.
My weekend:
:: roasted potatoes :: baked chicken :: sugar cookies :: humidity :: easing into a knitting lull :: swinging on the patio :: sunglasses :: being grateful and thankful :: pizza :: wings ::
How was your weekend? I'd love to hear!!
My weekend has been uneventful. Ran to the bookstore on Friday. Yesterday was spent doing house work, watching the NASCAR race and eating Chinese. Today, I did my hair, went for a walk, and putzed around. Oh, got some knitting in there also - and some reading!

My weekend as been quite good. Hubby and I enjoyed our time together on Saturday goofing around town. Today is quiet and relaxing. A nap for him and catching up on blog posts and projects for me. Lovely photos ... so green!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the PAINTER too. I supply running the stairs for items, making snacks and lunch.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend: amazing. Warm and humid as I Like it. ON the porch. Enjoying all the cats and our new kitten
Knitting mittens. oh and a no fat yogurt cone with sprinkles
I am so happy you daughter was there and you had this time to be together.
ReplyDeleteI'm also happy the painting to behind you and now you can rest. I have been
walking a lot lately, the children gave me a Garmin VIvo 2 and I keep trying
to out do my steps each day, it's fun.
I bet you and your daughter had a great time together!! We had a wonderful weekend here, not stressful, just right. Ran errands with one daughter Saturday morning while hubby prepared awesome smoked ribs and corn on the cob. Got all the veggie beds weeded in between rain showers on Saturday and had a "funny movie" night with the whole family. Today we were all home in the morning and then in the afternoon the girls decided to go shopping and to the movies together. Which left "the old people" to do as the pleased, which means we went and listened to our friend play in a band. Fun... :-)
ReplyDeleteMy husband worked hard and stained the deck over the weekend...I am thankful for the effort, but I can't wait for the stink to be gone. I am not a big fan of the fresh paint smell...I feel my brain cells mutating! Happy knitting and I will be thinking bright thoughts for your bushes.
ReplyDeleteWell, my weekend wasn't as good as yours because my daughter isn't here! But it was very relaxing. Lunch with a friend, a walk with another. Netflix with my husband. Lots of knitting. I can't complain.
ReplyDeleteHI Karen!
ReplyDeleteSweet to be back. I hope to join you next weekend, as I'm back at Lady Cordelia.
