Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
This weekend I went to with my family to hickory run state park where we visited boulder field. The kids walked all the way to the end while my husband and I sat with Frodo. Who LOVED being at the park.
Sadly in the past couple of weeks vandals spray painted numerous boulders. We have through the years visited this park whenever we have out of town company and sometimes we just took the kids for fun.
Frodo truly believes that everyone is put on this earth to say "hello" to him :)
We picnicked but I did not photo that...too busy eating food.
We walked a stretch of road that is less traveled, all you could hear was the rushing water in the nearby stream and birds. I find I use my phone camera all the time because of convenience. When I use the big camera, I'm happy and feel even more tuned into what I am photographing. A joyful experience.
The weekend also had:
::corn on the cob::a full house::bagels::sunshine::walks in the woods, my own and in the park::unplugged from the internet::hamburgers and hotdogs::knitting::list making::long conversations::
How was your weekend?
Quiet but busy. Yours sounded idyllic, I love list making and long conversations.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely time! My weekend was spent book buying, knitting, reading, watching NASCAR races and the Indy 500, taking some walks.....
ReplyDeleteLinda in VA
well I was admittedly crabby due to the cold rain yesterday. Today it is warm rain and storms and that improves my mood !
ReplyDeleteIm reading a book written by a man who has a daughter with Down Syndrome. I'm knitting mittens!
The weekend also has: 8 of us for a barbecue at our house tonight . Hot dogs, burgers, salads, and watermelon! Cmon sunshine
What a beautiful place to visit, such a shame about the vandals. Why do people do stuff like that?
ReplyDeleteMy weekend has been pretty special, Mickey and Jordan had the baby!
it really is a field of boulders!!! What a great destination...and it sounds like a wonderful weekend. Ours was filled with family and friends and lots of day hikes too.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely spot to share memories with the family! (Freddy feels the same way about people.....put here to fuss over him; dog? he couldn't care less. I've always wondered how he and Frodo would get along?!?)
ReplyDeleteThose boulders look so cool, that's a great place for a hike. We went hiking as well today...
ReplyDeleteA great weekend! What a lovely place to go for a walk and a visit, it is so pretty isn't it! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I came over to visit you and it looks as though your weekends are still just as full of family and peace as always. We're in Paris at the moment, so it's been a little different than the usual for us!

ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great spot to visit. So glad you enjoyed your full house this weekend. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteThat park looks so interesting-I love all those boulders! We had my aunt come visit this weekend, and went hiking along a river.
ReplyDeleteOh we had a walk in the woods and sweet corn too. It all so good...lovely to see your gorgeous family. Such a shame though when people try to spoil natural beauty. Frodo is cute that it would be hard to resist saying hello.

ReplyDeleteBTW, I think Frodo may be right!
Oh what lovely photos Karen!! I'm so happy that you had such a lovely weekend with your family.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stupendous weekend! It's the best way I can think to describe it ;) Mine was nice, and I also spent time in a state park, Letchworth. We watched the hot air balloons, which is only best enjoyed with 3 and 5 yr olds! Have a lovely week!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend, being outdoors and eating yummy things! My fingers are numb from this past weekend, we have been putting 2 layers of insulation plates on the floors of our house.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time! Thanks for the link to the state park. We'll have to check that out sometime! I love that quaint little white church!
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like a lovely weekend, Karen! What an interesting place that boulder field looks to be...
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to spend some time. I love your photos. We had lovely weather and spent some time walking at the Arboretum.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful weekend Karen!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a lovely time! It makes me sad that vandals feel the need to destroy things of beauty. I think Frodo is correct...everyone should greet him. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful weekend! It is wonderful to see you all in shorts and t-shirts in the sunshine! We can't catch a break from the cold temperatures or rain here. It isn't feeling a bit like summer...yet. I hold out hope! And, I think Frodo is totally right. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour weekend looks marvelous! I just don't understand why anyone wouldn't stop to say hello to Frodo. He's such a charmer.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful place. My kids just LOVE climbing all over rocks, they would be in love with that place.
ReplyDeleteAnd my daughter would agree, Frodo does deserve a stop and greet!
That place looks beautiful! So glad it was a good weekend.
