Promise Shawl Complete


I finished the shawl the day before I wanted it wrapped up and ready to go.  As always, blocking made the lace work pop.  It truly is a magical even in a knitter's world.


Many of you have asked, "did she like it?"  She did, unfortunately when she opened the shawl I was in the moment and forgot to take a photo. The whole opening up present event was a blur and I remembered at the end.  Isn't that life?  I'm glad I was paying attention, but boy where was my mind?  I'll blame it all on the wedding brain fog.


I'm happy knowing she has something to wear if she gets cold.  The wedding is at the end of July and the chances of being cold are quite slim, but still a chance is a chance.

    Even if she doesn't get cold (in July!), the important thing is that your daughter has a wedding shawl knit with love by you. What a beautiful treasure you created!

    The shawl is absolutely beautiful. Your daughter will treasure it forever. I think being in the moment is wonderful. Sometimes it is ok to put away the camera and just enjoy.

    oh, Karen....it's beautiful!!! And I've heard of several young women who have used their 'bridal shawls' as baptismal shawls for their first born.....who knows what the future of this heirloom will be ??

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
