relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.

My weekend was busy, fun and full of good food and good company.

-my daughter had her bridal shower which my sister hosted (thank you!).  The party was a small family affair and we had a fantastic time

-there was lemon cake!
-a few games
-lots of homemade appetizers and snacks

 


-the weather was cold and rainy all weekend long
-I had a lunch out with my sister, some shopping, and lots of talking time with my aunt.
-I also saw my cousins
-we had a dinner at my dad's and walked around his ponds and listened to the frogs, bees and birds.
-despite all of the rain, yesterday after being stuck on a highway and losing 1 1/2 hours of driving time (crazy!!) we were gifted a rainbow

    Karen, your weekend sounds lovely. Thank you for sharing the picture of your daughter and her bridal shower! I understand the craziness of losing driving time due to rain. We were caught in a few downpours ourselves over the last several days.

    Such an exciting time as the countdown to the wedding begins. Weekends filled with family, friends, fun and good are always good. We had rain and cooler temperatures this weekend too, but today the sun is shining and I am just about to take the kiddos into the woods. Have a lovely week Karen.

    SO glad the bridal shower was a success! What a great time for the ladies to come together and celebrate the next step in your daughters life. :)
    Love that bouquet of flowers!
    Our weather was very nice, low humidity and mild temps. Great for being outdoors. Yes, the shawl, did you get it finished and gifted? :)

    Karen, your daughter is beautiful! I love intimate bridal showers, they are the best kind, don't you think? And lemon cake, oh my! I would have been in heaven. I keep hoping to see a rainbow this summer but have not had any luck! Have a great week! xx

    What a nice weekend! I had the same weather--very cold, very rainy! I spent most of my time trying to catch up on sleep, so I didn't mind the rain at all. So much excitement in the wedding coming up!!!! Glad to see it's all coming together nicely :)

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
