Golden Pear Baby Hat


Oh my, was I distracted over the weekend.  I was looking at my knitting and the current projects and suddenly I had an urge to knit a baby hat for my grand nephew.  I wanted to make him one over the summer and never did. The joy of impulse knitting is divine.

How sweet is this little pattern?  I knit this hat in a day if all the hours were strung together.
I made some modifications to make the hat a little bigger, I hope that it fits and fits for more than one season :)

    This is really nice! My new grand baby is around 12 weeks old. I wonder if this would fit her.....I am still a fairly new knitter and not confident enough to add or subtract for size on my own but would love to try it. Your colors are beautiful for a little boy but maybe some pastels (?) for a girl?

      I think it might fit, but you could make it bigger by doing my mods and yes to pastels :)

    I like these fall colors and that pop of mustard in-between. I had tried out this pattern for a friend who was going through chemo but it didn't mesh with the colored yarn I had. I like the simple colorwork of this pattern though.

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
