Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
This weekend our plans were altered and so I found myself with an entire Saturday with NO plans. So you wonder what did I do, right? Well I'll share :)
In the morning I knit while reading three short stories by Flannery O'Connor then read some more from one of my magazines, while continuing to knit away. Frodo and I went for a walk with a jacket on and some mitts (me not him...). In the afternoon, I read a bit from the book that will not prop open so I couldn't knit.
I added a few rows on my sweater, then undid a row, grr...rookie mistake on my part, I forgot to do the every six row thing. Dinner was tomato soup with grilled cheese! Yum. I also had an apple with ample peanut butter on each chuck I cut up. It's the new taste treat for me I guess. Way healthier than donuts so my body is thankful.
In the evening, I watched three Gilmore Girls while knitting on my never ending blanket. I've vowed to work on it at least one HOUR a night....let's get that project done!!
So you can see my day was filled with: food, knitting, walking and reading. Not bad at all.
Friends were over this afternoon for knitting and talking (and more food). When my company left, we had Chinese take out which is beyond delicious, I'm filled to the brim and I'm sipping some hot tea about to hit the publish button and sit and knit some more. Sigh. This was a picture perfect knitter's weekend.
All photos taken this morning around 7 a.m.
How was your weekend?
The oranges and reds in your pictures are beautiful against the greens. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I too had a relaxing weekend.

I ate grilled cheese and tomato soup on Saturday and for a snack there was apple with crunchy almond butter [it's what I like]. There was also reading and knitting! I love that our weekends were so similar. Now
ReplyDeleteI just need so Chinese food!
Sounds like a perfect weekend Karen :) We are enjoying a beautiful autumn weekend, and it's Thanksgiving up here, so lots of time in nature, and with family.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week. xo
pretty darn perfect in every way!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend, much the same as mine. My husband and I just relaxed together and did very little. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAh, sounds perfect to me. Sometimes changes of plans can be great can't they? Enjoy your week :)

ReplyDeletewe did this ~> http://homespuntogether.co.za/gone-fishin/ :)
have a blessed new week xxx
It really looks like fall in your area, very pretty! We did the warrior dash Saturday mid morning and in the later afternoon (after getting cleaned up and resting a bit) we headed to a friends house for a bonfire. Sunday was pretty much spent on the bike, participating in a poker run to benefit cancer research. A weekend full to the brim - I feel like I need an extra day just to get some rest. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell, Karen, that sounds just about perfect! Don't know how your weekend could've gotten a bit better. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed some similar activities on Saturday although I did manage to make a batch of tomato sauce. Our warm weather keeps them ripening, so I guess I'll keep on harvesting!
Happy Monday / Columbus Day! xo Lisa

ReplyDeleteLovely stroll photos. Grilled cheese and tomato soup sound yummy. I need to experiment more with grill cheese. I want a panini pan; my mum has this nice one with a press. I will work on my weekend post later today after I get my run and weights in.
ReplyDeleteYour colors are just popping off the page. Gorgeous time of year. Glad you got to knit.
ReplyDeleteWeekend was chock full of activities: a concert, a drive for the shelter to pick up a cat, naps because this cold has gotten the best of me this week, and CUBS baseball. Oh and Roasted vegetables for dinner sunday wtih Brown and wild rice. mmmmm
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gilmore Girls. I really wanted to name my son Rory. I thought my Husband might go for it because one of his favorite golfers is named Rory as well. But he said no. Drafts. Now I love the name Reed instead.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect day. Wonderful Fall pictures.
ReplyDeleteWondering if this is the "peak" weekend for leaf changing colors ~ so beautiful and something I miss! If we are lucky enough to even have leaves change, it happens overnight and they fall off! I love looking at your fall photos! Cant wait to see your finished blanket either.

The color in your area is stunning. Ours is just starting, but we rarely see the colors of reds and oranges you have in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! We had a good weekend also. Visited with the GK, sang some very pretty hymns with the choir and got a few chores done in addition to a little knitting. It's sure feeling like fall here.
