Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
My weekend started with a dinner out with my husband and ordering something completely different--our sweet waitress recommended that we switch it up, so we did. We ordered various appetizers and sampled the night away. That was fun!
On our way home, we stopped for donuts and ran into friends we haven't seen in a long time. So we stayed and talked for a few hours. (Of course I brought donuts home as well...)
Saturday was slow and easy, a walk and just relaxing. I knit some on that hat that was supposed to be finished today (it's not finished). I watched two episodes of Dr. Who, I think I'm okay with the newer doctor. I think.
Today was Mass, meeting up with friends to knit, loads of laundry and dinner for toast. My tea is sitting here waiting for me and so is that hat that I'll try to add some inches while watching TV.
How was your weekend?
Donuts and spending time with old friends sounds really nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here today Karen, cold! Yesterday I was almost ready to turn the a/c on when I saw it was 80 F. in my home, but I held off and today I am wearing long sleeves, jeans, thick socks and a shawl. I have a cup of hot tea and my knitting, can you tell I'm happy ? :) It's about time for this cold weather to get here and I'm not even complaining about the rain that is falling.
What a lovely sounding weekend. I spent the weekend with my little man, celebrating his seven trips around the sun. It was fun, and I am now a little tired and so ready for a relaxing week ahead :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful week ahead Karen.
It sounds like a very nice and relaxing weekend Karen. We spent some time with friends on Friday evening, had a swim meet on Saturday (well, I guess the girls had the meet and we went to watch), went for a nice hike today and just enjoyed our time. There was knitting, laundry, dogs that needed a bath, a movie... All in all a good weekend.
ReplyDeletesounds like a very nice and relaxing weekend. We too had a relaxing weekend filled with hours of quiet nothing. Just like it is supposed to be. Here's to a great week!

nice gentle weekend....and any weekend with donuts has to count as great!!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to start in on this Dr. Who business! I feel so left out.
ReplyDeleteWe took a spontaneous trip to San Fran this weekend to take little mini to the zoo and aquarium. Finally figuring out car knitting!
I think you will like them especially if you start at the reboot and go all the way through. The first few seasons are campy but then it gets good.
DeleteI love seeing pictures of your home, Karen. You have such unique and beautiful accents. I love the quilted wall hanging! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletemy sweet sis made it for me :)
Delete:) You have a talented sis. ;)
DeleteSounds like a great weekend. Pretty relaxed here too.
ReplyDeleteDonuts! Dan picked up pastries at a bakery up the street from our beach house this morning...I enjoyed an almond cherry scone that was soooo good with my coffee. We're home from our getaway and I'm having trouble loading my pics. Hoping they will be there in the morning. Hoping you got lots of knitting done this evening! I sure got many, many rows doen this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds lovely! So nice to run into friends like that. I adore your quilt, it is beautiful! Here is what I did this weekend

Hope that you have a great week! xx
I wish my weekend was like your weekend. But it consisted of that nasty 4 letter word. WORK! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love love love meeting up with friends over doughnuts!!! Our weekend was relaxed as well - but no doughnuts (sigh....) I have never watched Dr. Who...now, I will have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like such a fun weekend! And surprise visits with friends are always the best :) I'm really liking the new Dr. so far, but it did take me a while to warm up to him :)
ReplyDeleteOoh! You had a well-rounded weekend. Good for you on changing it up. My mum always says to order something you don't ordinarily make at home. I usually order seafood. I am dying to make some doughnuts. I want a doughnut pan and just remembered Michael's always has a weekly coupon so I can get one there and save more than buying one at Target.
ReplyDeleteA donut with a weekend is always a good thing! Brought daughter to airport Saturday and tried not to miss her too terribly that afternoon. Ran 3 miles SUnday and knitting on my own hat. The men inmy house went to see the B OND movie yesterday
ReplyDeletethat sounds great, our weekends are hardly relaxing. there are always errands, kids birthday parties or some sort of somethings that needs do be done..
ReplyDeleteHomemade donuts ... yum! I had a much-needed lazy weekend. A few meet-ups with friends, but not much else.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend! We had a good one as well, dinner out with friends at our favorite tapas restaurant on Saturday night, a bridal shower for my daughter's college roommate on Sunday as well as another Giants win! Our house is always a happy one when the Giants win! :) xx
ReplyDeleteYou had me at donuts....
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a relaxing weekend. May the rest of your week be just as wonderful!
That first photo. Love!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely week-end indeed. Ours was pretty full, but we still got to relax and just be a bit. I love your fabric pumpkins. Did you use a pattern?
ReplyDeletemy mom made them many many years (decades?) ago for me. I don't know where she got the pattern.
DeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend Karen! I hope to have a slow relaxing one this coming weekend. Deer season!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend! I love your fun fall crafts too! Enjoy the coming week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend the weekend. I love all the crafty goodies in this post :).
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely weekend too, pottering at home, sewing, knitting and an evening out with friends sharing food and watching fireworks.
I used to have long to-do lists for weekends, but then realized that it makes me stressed. So, now my Sundays are unpredictable and I love it so much! Your weekend sounds so cozy and absolutely perfect!
ReplyDeleteI like that: adding inches.
ReplyDeleteYou had me at appetizers and donuts! Sounds like a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely relaxing weekend, Karen...I like this kind best of all. Love the light in your first photo and your wall hanging is beautiful xx
