Joy and Thank Yous


Good morning!!  My week has been fabulous and I cannot wait to tell you why.  I was so lucky to receive some awesome mail deliveries.  Do you remember when George Bailey, in It's a Wonderful Life, talks about train whistles being the wonderful sound? Well doorbells and car honks win this week.  My postal deliverer loves to honk before leaving a package outside our home.  UPS guy takes those extra steps to the front door and rings the bell.  Either way I'm a happy person.


Jodie sent me a lovely swap present.  I was filled with glee opening each item and felt gratitude for the world of knitters.  Thank you Jodie, I love everything!  And a big big thank you to Donna who set up the swap.


Next up is a sweet little treat from Steph.  I feel like I know her in real life just haven't quite met face to face.  I imagine a time in my future where I'm sitting on her porch knitting and swinging and enjoying each other's company.  Thank you Steph!!


Nicole requested some test knitters and I volunteered to help out.  Imagine my delight yesterday when I opened a box and found a perfect tea mug from her thanking me.  Thank you Nicole!  I loved knitting your mitts :)


See that Sheep hat?  Well it is finished and I LOVE it.  So much so, I've cast on another one....I predict a lot of sheep hats in my knitting future.

Have you watched Amanda's videocast all about her knitting?  She is delightful.  I love listening to her and her adventures in knitting.  We were all beginners once and even though I'm a seasoned knitter I find her reflections refreshing.  Thank you Amanda for taking the time to share your knitting with us.

    My hat is finished, too!!! And I have enough leftover yarn for a dozen more...slight exaggeration, but unlike you, I'm not ready to cast on another---yet. I will, though. It was a fun, quick knit, wasn't it? Happy weekend!!!

    I always enjoy a good mail day and you've had a great mail week! I'm also impressed that your postal and UPS people take the time to ring the bell. I LOVE your sheep hat; that will be the first thing I knit for myself after Christmas!

    Everything is just so pretty and how wonderful that so many participated. :-). I also enjoy Amanda's podcasts. I am still a newbie when it comes to knitting so it is a joy to hear her share her knitting journey. Enjoy your goodies :-)

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
