Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
So far there has not been one single solitary snowflake to be seen. Believe me, I've looked. So today, as the foggy mist blanketed the area, I pretended the morning frost was snow. It's all I've got so I'm making do. This fog was pea soup thick and quite pretty!
My weekend was quite nice. I've met another self imposed knitting deadline that I can't share. I'm quite pleased with myself and my knitting fury. Also I've righted my slightly crooked back with perfect posture, lots of walking and some gentle yoga moves. Ah, yoga, you are so so good for me and yet I put you aside for silly knitting marathon days. I should learn, shouldn't I?
Saturday afternoon my husband made a curry and a dahl and all I did was make the rice and clean the kitchen up. Yum! We have leftovers too, so I'll have another no cook day this week.
Today, we've been to Mass, laundry is churning away upstairs, the kitchen is tidy and later we have a dress up party to attend. I will stand and stare at my closet waiting for something to inspire me. I love to wear jeans every single day and it pains me to wear a skirt or dress pants...
How was your weekend??
I have instructed my family to bury me in my blue jeans...
ReplyDeletenot a bad idea, it would be a comfortable resting outfit
DeleteI've been pretending our early morning frost is snow, too! (although I'm glad the day time temps have stayed above freezing so the progress can continue in our backyard project....they are sheet rocking!) fa la la la.
ReplyDeleteEven with the mist, it still looks pretty. I actually love an excuse to get dressed up, but jeans are just more practical for everyday.
ReplyDeleteI had Dahl the other day for the first time in ages and it was SO good. Gotta love simple food sometimes. Happy knitting!
ReplyDeleteIt has been colder here the past couple of days - especially in the mornings. The water dishes I put out for the birds and squirrels have been freezing up!

You make me laugh, I know what you mean about getting dressed up for a party. Sadly, I don’t even care for parties, wold rather stay home and knit! Glad you met your knitting deadline, I did to this morning. Now I need to step up the sewing deadlines. Enjoy your party!
ReplyDeleteWell, there hasn't been a snow flake here either, in fact I have roses in bloom and by next weekend it is suppose to be 75F! Do I need to tell you just how much that pains me?!
ReplyDeleteHooray for meeting your knitting deadlines, I haven't, but hope to by next weekend, and all because I keep adding to the list.
We are waiting for snow too. Sadly it was rather spring like here this weekend. It was nice, but not really the weather we want in December. I hit a knitting deadline this weekend too, and another looms :) Have a great week Karen.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfectly wonderful weekend to me! We actually left on Friday and took a weekend trip to Helen, GA. It was so nice there, we plan on going back there during the warmer month to look around a bit more.
ReplyDeleteOh, your page has such a perfect winter mood! So cozy! I also have been missing on my yoga and pilates morning sessions. Determined to get back to it on Monday :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, I love these foggy scenes.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend's highlight was our annual tree-trimming party, the prep for which took up a good portion of the weekend. I also attended a maker fair/happy hour at our local library Friday night and came away with some fun crafty projects, and I got a little Christmas shopping done at the local bookstore. Now I need a weekend to recover from my weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. We were shopping this weekend and checking things off the lists -- almost finished.
ReplyDeleteHope you found something to wear. I don't own a skirt or dress pants for that matter. We wait and wait and wait for snow. There isn't any forecast and we'll soon need to water the gardens if something doesn't come. Overall your weekend sounds restful and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures with the fog. It looks cold and should give you every reason to stay inside and knit.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much for getting dressed up either. Thankfully I can wear comfortable clothes to the office. No snow over here either. It's supposed to be a real warm week actually. I'm glad you have been able to meet your knitting deadlines with minimal pain!
ReplyDeleteyay for knitting goals met! I don't dress up....ever. I only have one dress up outfit (for funerals and weddings) :) No snow here at all. In fact its going to be almost 70 by the end of this week! thats crazy and kinda sad. I don't like this weather except its saving us lots of wood.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that we are going to get all our winter snow in one month... piles of it! I don't care for the fluffy white stuff as I still have to get out and go to work. :( I used to love it. I know someday I will again.
ReplyDeleteThis week is supposed to be very warm! I love it but know it's only putting off what must come.
Hope you have a great week! Hallelujah for leftovers!
we too had a beautifully thick fog the other day.. so very enchanting.
ReplyDeleteOur was full of holiday preparations: http://mamagonegreen.blogspot.com/2015/12/our-weekend.html
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Karen. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, the pain of staring at the closet pondering what to wear...my uniform is skirts and tops (short sleeved with a cardi). Loose and comfy. No snow here yet, either. :(
Frost is a whole 'nother art form in your neighborhood. Neat-o! The curry sounds delicious! What comfort food that is for a cold day. I need to make that.
ReplyDeleteOnly rain over here... your fog is gorgeous !!! You've got to get yourself some dressy jeans - did you have fun at the party?xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe had a much too busy weekend but I am hopeful for next weekend! No snow here (hoping it stays that way) but loads of rain.
ReplyDeleteI love fog too it's so magical like something out of Narnia. It's mild here and sunny today but there are still lots of flood warnings everywhere. We're so fortunate to have husbands who are good cooks.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the dress up party.

Lots and lots of rain here, that's for sure. Our weekend mostly envolved singing as it was our Worship through Music service. We rehearsed with the orchestra all morning on Sat. and then sang both services on Sunday. (Check out the link on my blog post for a little taste.) DD comes home on Thurs. night to attend a wedding east of the mts. and then will spend a tiny bit of time with family here. And so it goes, not a dull moment here!
