This weekend was a dark weekend, sure there were pockets of sun but my the dark skies just kept winning. I'm lucky that I can hibernate inside and knit away. How's your weekend been so far? I bet you have snow if you're not in the northeast (grr).
My weekend was pretty good, we had a slow Saturday morning doing our own thing. I started gathering papers together for taxes and filed a bunch as well. Of course I knit!! What's a day in my life without knitting? Not a fun day indeed.
Today I gathered with friends and knit some more, quite nice. My laundry is nearly finished and I'm sipping my daily cup of green tea.
My weekend contained:
chocolate chip muffins - chocolate chip cookies - risotto - left over curry - daily walks between the raindrops - reading reading reading - a little bit of writing -
How was your weekend?
Did some knitting yesterday, sang at both services today and then came home to watch the rest of the game. On to knitting and Downton Abbey a bit later. Enjoy what's left of the day!
ReplyDeleteThe rainy Sunday allowed me to complete some necessary chores. Hubby and I went out to dinner where they gave each adult patron a Powerball ticket as you left. Didn't win, but I thought that was a great idea. I hope you had a good knitting session.
ReplyDeleteWe had gray day here too and a nice, lazy weekend with lots of time for TV knitting.
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was fairly quiet and grey too - lots of playing with the children and doing some crafty projects, a little sewing and knitting and I launched my blog makeover and I absolutely love it! (Www.Spaceforthebutterflies.Com)
ReplyDeleteKnitting, a movie (at home), lunch out with the hubby, more knitting, gray skies, 7 mile walk, turkey chili... It was a good weekend. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was grey here yesterday, but today I saw blue skies. No snow!
ReplyDeleteI am knitting away on my blanket, but gosh it's slow going.
Cookies? Oh that sounds good.
Your weekend sounds lovely. We haven't had enough snow, but I've had enough winter.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend. We had some lovely cool rainy days last week and that was great. Yesterday was busy but today (after church) has been very nice and relaxing. Will end with Downton Abbey, Episode 2 in just a bit. Enjoy the week ahead.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fulfilling weekend, especially the chocolate chip cookies! I was off today, so I did a lot of nothing, laughed with my mom, played with my son, and knit away! It was good.
ReplyDeleteChocolate chip muffins and risotto sound particularly YUM at the moment. I was thinking about my des today too.
ReplyDeleteLaundry seemed to take over my weekend. I wish our investments grew as rapidly has the piles of dirty clothes. I did get to crochet and relax. All in all a nice weekend. Your weekend sounds lovely, especially the chocolate chip muffins.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds perfect, all that knitting! My was busy, busy but oh so productive, six bags of stuff and a crate de cluttered and then taken to the charity shop, a visit to the farmers market, two loads of laundry, the ironing, planning for next week and cutting out four fabric buckets which are now ready to be sewn up! Phew now I need a rest..........
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was filled with fun as I had Bertie for the weekend. I am resting today to get over all that running around.
ReplyDeleteIt was a grey, rainy weekend here, but last night all that changed to, wait for it...snow!!!!! Yes, I woke this morning to white, and goodness I love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere was knitting in my weekend, lots of tea, time with family, and quiet simple moments with my little man building lego, reading, and putting puzzles together.
Hope some snow finds you soon Karen. Enjoy a fabulous start to your week.
the sun came out for us all weekend, though it was chilly to the bones!!! No Snow over here...the early buds are starting to pop out everywhere. I love reading about your weekends Karen...especially about the chocolate chip cookies and muffins (yum)
ReplyDeleteI love knitting with friends.... so fun! And I love leftovers too!
ReplyDeleteWe had a mostly grey weekend as well. But that was OK - I spent most of it knitting without much guilt!
ReplyDeleteIt snowed. I had to drive past the hospital I used to work at , and was reminded again of my blessed life of retirement. Im knitting a sweater. Its been years since I attempted a sweater. Saw the movie CONCUSSIOn...very good
ReplyDeleteI envy your weekends.. ours was full of errands, a kids birthday party chuck e cheese.. attempting to watch a movie but falling asleep 40 mins in..
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lovely hibernate! Our weekend was rather like that! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely weekend, Karen! Yes, no snow here in the Northeast, I am not a happy camper! : ) My weekend consisted of chorus rehearsal on Saturday, football games and relaxing on Sunday, as well as finally taking down most of the Christmas decorations. Have a lovely week! xx
ReplyDeleteOo i like the idea of a dark weekend with knitting and chocolate chips, though I have to say mine was pretty good too. Filled with visiting friends, another friend's birthday party some exercise (to combat the funtimes of the gatherings) and yes! knitting! Here's to a happy week as well.
ReplyDeleteWe had some filtered sun in cold temps here. We took it easy after the first, long week of going back to the grind. Your chocolate baking sounds yummy! Do you use paper liners for your muffins or just bake them in the tins?
