Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
Guess what? I have snow, a lot of snow. You know, the snow blowing kind of snow. All day long yesterday I sat and watched the snowfall. The very best part was having my electricity the whole time. Oh, sometimes everything works out just fine.
I shoveled the front walk, to participate in some fashion, while he took care of the long long driveway. He is a summer lover and I think he enjoys the snow blowing as long as he is warm enough. He only came in once to switch out gloves for mitts. I enjoyed the snow day and staying inside.
Today, the plow did not clear our road this morning, so we didn't attend church. I found it hard to guess what the roads were like and decided I didn't want to know. I think the road crew had some challenges clearing all of the side roads! The plow arrived after lunchtime and our road is clear and ready for Monday's work day.
This weekend,I finished a novel and then started two more. My cardigan on the needles had some serious inches added as well. Last night, we binge watched Merlin on Netflix and I worked on that forever blanket. All good. Tomorrow we slide back into the regular routines. With this storm I think the two of us felt renewed with the staying inside and doing nothing.
How was your weekend?
Holey Moley- yep you got snow! Happy for you ,knowing how much you been wanting it. Enjoy your week in the white stuff :)
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot of snow!! We've had snow on Friday and icy roads on Saturday morning. By lunchtime they were passable again, so we ventured out to lunch and to get some paint. I spent the weekend painting the girls bathroom and then Greg added a new light fixture today. I still want to "spruce" it up a bit more, but I was too content to just stay home today. :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought of you and knew you were enjoying some beautiful white stuff. We had flurries here, but sadly nothing stuck!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pretty photos!
Snow!!! Haven't seen it for awhile! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy weekend was snowy also, but like you, we never lost power, so that was wonderful. After shoveling for 5 hrs. today, I'm sitting in my chair knitting and appreciating it!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! We only ended up with about three inches. Still, it's pretty, and after last winter's big blizzards, I'm happy with it. Knitting and reading while the snow falls; what could be nicer? That last photo is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLook at all that snow. I love being snowed in, and just hanging at home, it always feels so special knowing you can't go anywhere :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely start to your week Karen.
we were spared all of the storm in chicago. Friday night I went to my LYS knit shop, Saturday out for fish with friends...a bit overpriced, and today spent with my Sister in law for her 65th birthday. And sock knitting
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing, we never get snow like that over here. I actually spent the weekend sewing, with a little crochet thrown into the mix.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are ok, I was thinking of you when we heard the storm and snow forecast. I had a busy weekend sewing, knitting and a wonderful walk with a dear friend it was a lovely catch up of the last few months.
ReplyDeleteI am having a lot of snow envy over those pics! We only had a tiny bit of snow at the beginning of the month, but nothing even close to needing a snowblower. I think I will just stare at your beautiful pictures for a bit and pretend that it's the same weather over here :)
ReplyDeleteGoodness, it looks so beautiful! It hasn't snowed that much here for years. I spent the weekend inside too, reading and baking and watching Grey's Anatomy :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good weekend staying safe and warm in the snowy weather! xx
ReplyDeleteit is so beautiful karen !!! I miss snow storms and all the indoor coziness it brings. Thanks for sharing your narnia.
ReplyDeleteI must confess to be a little envious. We only have a few inches and would love to have more! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteyou got beautiful snow!!! we got sort of a meagre showing with a layer of ice underneath for a bit of treachery. Apparently, we were the far western edge of the building storm....I sort of like the fact that that seems to connect us with all our eastern friends!! A day inside (a guiltless day inside) really does rejuvenate, doesn't it? We're now left already with muddy messes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the best way to spend a snowstorm! We've gotten some snow here in SD, but I'm really missing the northeast right now. Stay cozy!
ReplyDeleteStaying inside and doing nothing sounds pretty glorious to me! Glad you have power. That makes a big difference!
ReplyDeleteThe snow fall is magical. Glad it was just right and not severe for you both. Lazy weekend as usual; had to take a nap b/c I was so pooped Saturday. We put away our tree and ornaments and presents and hit the library.
ReplyDeleteI love snowstorms. It’s time to snuggle up inside and just watch the beauty of the flakes and how it muffles those city sounds. It’s one of the only times I don’t feel guilty about doing nothing! Glad you held onto your electricity and were able to relax and let the snow do what snow does. :)
ReplyDeletebig snow envy here. I have only seen it about 5 times in my life. Humidity here is through the roof but rain will come tomorrow. I have some extra days off school, so am sewing and knitting. Weekend was spent sorting and at a Red Cross fundraiser concert listening to good old Neil Finn. (ex Crowded House/Split Enz fame)
ReplyDeletei think we are going to be staring at this snow for a long time..
ReplyDeletestarted two books at the same time.. i can never so that.. i find it so difficult switching back and forth..
Dats some snow. haven't been blogging a lot lately but I am committed to some posts this week. Have a terrific week ...

ReplyDeleteSounds like a productive weekend considering!
