Currently on the Needles


Hello!  I am nearing the completion of my cardigan.  So so so very close to being finished.  I'm on the buttonband and all that is left is the buttonhole band and buttons.  I cannot wait for this knit to be off the needles and done.

My pebble shawl continues to make slow and steady progress.  Since I'm focusing on the cardigan, my time with this shawl is limited, however that limited time is pure bliss.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Baker Towers.  I love that the setting is in Pennsylvania and there are references to Polish food (I'm Polish!).  So far the novel is a captivating read.  Phew!  I think I picked this book up in Cambridge, Massachusetts when we were visiting our son last fall.

    Your shawl is going to be beautiful! I love that color. I can't wait to be done with my classics list so that I can just pick up a book that looks interesting... :) Won't be long. A year goes fast for me! LOL!

    I'm glad to hear the book is good. I loved another book by that author, which I think is called Mrs. Kimble. It took me a long time to finish my Pebble Beach Shawl. It just felt like a long, leisurely knit.

    I'm still plugging along on my cardigan, but it's slow going. Lace weight yarn, a dark color and stockinette stitch - tons of it, since it's knit in one piece. Right now I can only manage 3 or 4 rows every night...

    What's it like being close to finishing a sweater? Like REALLY close, because I feel like I should be done, and I haven't even come close to finishing the body of mine. Send Help! ;) I'm going to have to check that book out.

    I love the colour of your cardigan! I love eyelet patterns like the shawl but I do a terrible job of counting and if you are off even one stitch, it all looks funny. That is so pretty!

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
