there might be a bug there and there might not be a bug there

Another weekend upon us and around here it's hot hot hot.  I'm sure some of you have it hotter than me, I respect that.  All I can say is that I love my AC and cannot imagine what my life would be without it.  I don't know how Scarlett O'Hara survived the southern summers in those poofy dresses.  All the amount of fanning would not cool me off -  at all.

ready to cast on a test knit :)

Friday night we went out for pizza after a month long ban of not eating out for dinner, self imposed I guess.  I was sick and tired of eating out so much in Santa Barbara that I made a pointed effort to cook every day at home.  Even though I'd rather be knitting, I'm a good cook! We are back on the "don't eat out" wagon once more.

experience will give you wisdom

Saturday we piddled about the house, doing much of nothing.  I did catch some knitting time and some reading time.  Dinner was grilled shrimp, red peppers and tin foil packets of chopped potatoes.  Oh and a tossed salad.  See?  Why eat out??

swishy skirt

Today was church and it was a swishy skirt church day for me.  We are having home made pizza and watching something on Hulu or Netflix.  I guess it should be his choice since it's Father's Day but gosh, that is a challenge for me...

How was your weekend?

  1. We are heading into the cold months, If I had my way it would be summer all year round. Looking forward to seeing the progress of your test knit.

  4. You are dressed so nice and cool. I like that detailing on your slides, almost barbed wire like. We had a good one of laziness and getting some chores done. Watched "Inside Out" again with the 9 year old and have been knitting productively.

I have been learning 'to do' Netflix and I must say I really like it.

  12. I think your turquoise polish and swishy skirt help make a lovely summer outfit! I'm with you on the AC; I tried to work on a baby blanket this weekend and couldn't stand it on my lap even with the AC on. Here's my weekend: http://highlyreasonable.blogspot.com/2016/06/weekending-bits-and-pieces.html

  13. Love your toes! Yesterday we had a cooler day (and humidity is always nil) and it was so nice to have the windows open. I love summer, except the when the temperature nears 100 (like this week). Thank you for the picture of Frodo!!

  14. I love the toenail polish! What a fun color. It was warm here too, and despite it - there was yard/garden work. I like the summer weather, but heat and humidity are not my friends - at all. When it winds up towards the 90 degree mark, I am done and happy for my AC.

  15. knitting knitting knitting....moving from one a/c vent to the next. we cleared 100 over the weekend, and as much as i hate the heat, i hate the humidity even more. it's slowly killing me!!! did you ever read the ya-ya-sisterhood? i love where they talk about sitting around in their slips on the front porch under the ceiling fan---and zipping around in a convertible (attired the same!). can't imagine.

  16. Some knitting and lots of reading for me. It has been pretty nice weather wise so far. No need for A/C yet. I know that will change soon. I can't even imagine what it's like out west - 128 degrees in AZ! How do you even breathe? I find we go out to eat a lot less in the summer. Grilling is just so easy.

  17. It's been very hot here too! We cranked the AC for a couple of days, but it's looking like we're going to have high temps like this for most of the summer, so now we're trying to ration the AC and use fans to blow up cool air from the basement instead.

  18. we are having hot days too.. but the house is pleasant during the day.. and at night we open up the windows on most days to let in the cool breeze.. which is odd.. because usually we too are very ac dependent in our summers.. this summer has been an odd one. But i'm not complaining.

  19. We had homemade pizza on the grill last night as well! It was delicious. Although it was Father's Day poor Rob did not get TV priority once 9:00 arrived: my daughter and I watch Game of Thrones and it was a Bolivian episode last night! 😊
