Knitting and Moving

As you read this post, I'll be helping my son move into his new apartment in State College along with my husband.  There will be no air conditioning and it's on the third floor.  Goodness gracious!!  Keep me in your cooling thoughts that the move goes swiftly and safely.  So far, I've had tiny hiccups with U-haul as well. We packed up his Boston apartment and traveled back to PA yesterday.

I thought you'd like to see my knitting in progress.  My dandelion daze shawl is making steady progress.  I'm going until I run out of yarn!  What I love most about this pattern is that it's a nice chart to follow and I haven't made too many mistakes as of yet.  Phew!!

My antarktis shawl which I shared on Wednesday is again in the photo.  I love this yarn!!  The color is dreamy and squishy.  What more could a knitter want?

This is Frodo ignoring me.  He hates when I try to take his photo :)  I love when he ignores me, he is irresistible!

packed?!

Have a great day!

  2. Hooray for sons moving closer to home, but not so much for no ac, on the third floor, and in what feels like awful heat and humidity here. Sending cooling thoughts along with hope that it all goes smoothly. I do love the packed photo; it looks exactly like the way my older son packs!

  3. Dandelion Daze is so pretty! Hope you have your foremans hat and you can supervise while everyone else does all the heavy lifting. Frodo's picture reminds me of my sweet boy doing his best to ignore me during a photo shoot. So cute!!

  6. Best wishes for the move! I remember my first college apartment was on the fourth floor, no air conditioning, and no elevator! Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly and you all get someplace cool quickly!

  10. We are packing our son up in the next week to head to Florida for freshman year of college. I called to check that they have air, and was told they are penalized for NOT using the air conditioning. The other 3 went here in NY state and NO AIR these first few weeks. I am 1/2 hour from Erie PA and things are just steamy! Good Luck with the move and I keep reminding myself I am NOT SHOVELING right now! Your Yarny projects are lovely. Time to find some of those long, lost project bags here and get moving. Thanks for the motivation

  11. Good luck with the move. My daughter will be changing apartments in Boston on Sept. 1. Thankfully, I will have nothing to do with this move. She is doing it all on her own...with friends. I love your shawls are beautiful. One light and airy and one a little heavier in two gorgeous yarns. Enjoy your knitting. Frodo is so cute!

  12. Please be careful when you help him move. That's some hike up 3 floors. What are Schnauzers like? Are they hyper like Wire Fox Terriers? Frodo seems mellow and low key.

  13. Hi Karen, I hope the move went well and that you weren't too hot and tired at the end of it.

The picture of Frodo made me laugh out loud because our dog Trevor does the same thing sometimes, they are funny!

wishing you a lovely and restful weekend xx
