How was your weekend?

My weekend started great!  Our son came home for a weekend visit and I promptly quickly whipped up a pumpkin pie and chocolate chip cookies.  We had a nice Friday relaxing and talking.

On Saturday after a family walk, we headed out for a lunch at a favorite bagel shop.  Once home we chilled out reading, occasionally talking and being together.

Today was mostly kind of crappy, I had never ending computer problems from a Windows update (I'm shaking my fist and growling at Microsoft!).  So after whining and complaining, my husband fixed the usb ports that were not working while I went to my knitting group.

I now have residual anger.  You know the kind where you are simmering and trying to let it go.  My son thinks I should get a Mac....My laptop is seven years old and I'm due.  Oh the research I need to do!!  I know I need to buy a new one soon, it's only a matter of time until it dies.

I did not get anything done that I wanted to get done today.  Anyways, I am truly blessed that this is my major complaint, right?  I think so.

  1. Computer problems are so frustrating! I am waiting for a Surface for work (not my choice but then I'm not paying for it). I do most of my computer play time on my iPad. Good luck making a decision.

  2. I hear you; computer problems can make one crazy! Yesterday we just relaxed after a busy week, and then today we spent most of the day at church, singing at two services, and then at a memorial service for a choir member (the first of 3!) Heard lots of wonderful music as he was a bell player and singer, so it was a very uplifting service.

  3. Computers can be frustrating. I got a MacBook Air about four months ago and really enjoy it. It is a little bit of a change to get used to, but I love it (most of the time). I also got an iPhone 7, so we are slowly becoming an "Apple Family." I hope your week goes well!

  4. Ah, our first world problems. I get mad when the Internet is slow and bang the mouse, cussing at the screen. Yeah, 7 years old is old unfortunately. We are PC users here. Mac is too expensive for us. The Apple store seems like it's really helpful. You should go to one and play around with the desktops.

  5. Few things are as frustrating as computer problems! I have to work on PCs at work, and I am always so happy to come home to my Mac. Just saying...

  6. Welcome to my world of computer problems :) Mine is 8 years old, and the budget just isn't there for a new one, yet. Love the photo Karen, gorgeous. Happy you enjoyed your weekend with your son. Have a great start to your week.

  7. The beginning of your weekend sounds wonderful...those lovely walks, and talks with your son and husband. So sorry about your computer problems today. You sound like me when my computer doesn't work the way it should. I just was blessed by my husband giving me a belated birthday gift last week...a new laptop. I'm loving it!

  8. Sounds like a lovely day spent with your son always a joy to spend quality time with family. Shame about the computer, I hate these windows 10 updates, they leave me frustrated and angry too. Have a great day.

  9. I hated to but I broke down and bought an new laptop last year. NO, I don't like the new Windows 10 but I'll get over it. I get to blog and check my email and that's about all I do on this thing. Glad you had a good visit with your son. Our middle daughter (the one that moved out 3 weeks ago and we hadn't hear from her) is coming by tomorrow! Pray for us! :)

  10. I'm glad your weekend had a good start.
And those computer problems... I know, so frustrating. I'm still on windows 7 , but it took a lot of work to prevent Microsoft from messing up my system with it's latest updates. Luckily my husband is an IT-specialist ;-)

  11. Technology is fantastic until it isn't. Then it is the most frustrating thing ever. I wish you luck in your research, and recommend keeping your knitting close as you do - something to settle you as you are overwhelmed with your research!

  12. I'm glad your weekend had a good start, and hope you have a good resolution to computer problems. My laptop is old enough that I can't even get it to update any more (maybe that's a good thing?), but like you, I've put off buying one. Here's hoping you can let go of residual anger (easier said than done!) and end up with a working computer.
