So excited that we have SNOW.  Just saying..  It's wonderful and quiet outside.  I saw six deer while driving up my road today and it was nice to see that they survived hunting season (phew).  I love them so.  My weekend was super relaxing yesterday and self imposed busy today!

Yesterday we had a slow weekend, reading and knitting for me.  Working on my menu plan for when my family is here for many days in a row.  I've changed Christmas Dinner twice now.  I'm a fickle about how much time I want to be in the kitchen (uh, zero minutes so I can knit).  So each meal is getting easier and I think more.

this hat is DONE

Today was cleaning our main bathroom.  I must say one of the positives of being older is that the bathroom always looks clean when you don't have your eyeglasses on.  However, my corrected vision reveals the truth... It's squeaky clean now!

This afternoon, I exchanged Christmas presents with my knitting group.  I forgot to take a photo so just imagine yarns, goodies, knits, project bags and a mug!  Sigh.  I am so very lucky to have this group.

How was your weekend?

  1. Yep, that's just a dusting. I am very happy with our snow! However, that blue sky is awfully nice.
    Gorgeous Fair Isle Hat!

  2. Sounds like you had a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

Ours was busy on Saturday, with the Regatta of Lights boat parade being the highlight. Today was much more relaxed with a stop at our favorite coffee shop, some podcast watching AND, of course, some knitting.

  4. Doesn't snow make it seem like a perfect time for tea and some quiet knitting? There is something so cozy about snow around Christmas time!
    I love your fair isle!

  5. I need to put "Join a knitting group" on my things to do in 2017 list! We had snow and rain and time with our daughters and cuddles with our tiny person, a lovely weekend indeed.

  6. I so love your snow!!! I love American Christmases... We got our lights and the first of the decorations on our Christmas tree up. This the boys will work on crafting up some white clay dough ornaments for the tree - which should then be ready for this weekend coming. It rained most of the weekend - which we are in need of since we are recovering from drought - but it would be nice to have a little Summer here. Have a lovely week ahead xx

  8. Sounds like a super relaxing weekend. Mine was one of the best I have had in a while. My three daughters and the six Grandchildren along with several other family members visited. It was a great day that will stay with me for a long time to come.

  12. That's the perfect amount of snow. Enough to cover the ground but not enough to affect driving or shoe choices. We're supposed to have an ice storm this weekend. I hope they are wrong.

I love your hat. I think that's my favorite of the ones you've been knitting recently. I love how crisp the colors are.

  14. Sounds like a very nice weekend, and I love the photos. I was in LA this weekend, so no snow for me -- but I did go to Griffith Observatory and a yarn shop and got in lots of knitting (and even a weekend blog post: https://fiberandsustenance.wordpress.com/2016/12/12/mawson-visits-griffith-observatory-and-other-la-snippets/) Happy Monday!

    PS Love the hat!

  15. most of our snow has melted away, although it did snow again a bit late last night -- mixed with rain, so none stuck. We're due again later this week which is not typical for our elevation. We'll take it! Trying to get things done early in the week so we can all stay home when/if the roads are bad. Karen, I'm sharing an exciting weekending post today! Yay!!

  16. Our weekend was consumed by singing. First, a final rehearsal, and then two services of the real thing. It's so much fun to sing with an orchestra, and our soloists were wonderful. Afterwards we enjoyed lunch at a pizza place with DD#2's family who had come to hear us sing. A perfect day!

  17. Our weekend was my daughter and hubby getting a tree and decorating it. This year she did a lot while I sipped (a forbidden treat) her leftover mint chocolate latte (I shouldn't be drinking all that sugar, but, sigh, it was so good, and it doesn't count, it was hers). So here's my blog for Saturday, a little late, but it was real pretty and about the Project Peace Cowl I'm working on. http://lovelyyarnescapes.blogspot.com/2016/12/simply-saturday-project-peace_10.html
