Hello! As you can see my family room is slowly getting filled. Now some of that is mine, but the gaming computer console and the pile of books under the table are not. Our son arrived on Friday and I've been enjoying his company immensely.
Yesterday after some crazy weather, we went to do some shopping and I crossed off another item on my list. I am so close to being completely finished! We had dinner out and then came home to watch Elf. One of my favorite Christmas movies.
Today, I've been reading Alexander Hamilton barely making a dent. I want to finish this book by the end of the year. I vacillate between 'yes I can' and 'nope, no way'. Every sentence in the book is dripping with information and cannot be read quickly (Or I have a slow reading speed..).
We had a lovely dinner of left over curry and now I'm ready to resume my reading!
Please note:
The weekends post for the next few weeks will be posted on a Monday. Both Christmas and New Year's Day fall on a Sunday and I'll be busy with family and celebrations.
How was your weekend?
i love sundays...Been knitting off and on today..bliss....You have a beautiful tree.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lulu, your tree is beautiful. We have had a fairly peaceful weekend, although putting up the tree was a little fraught at times... what with the cat constantly trying to climb it. We've made some sweets and watched 'The Santa Clause' this afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteI love your son's pile of books and that he is making himself at home in the family room! I think I also see your sock yarn blanket so it looks like you have still retained a place to knit. Enjoy your son, reading, and the holidays!
ReplyDeleteWow; look at all of those ornaments! Ours is very modest compared to yours.
ReplyDeleteYour living space looks so warm and cozy Karen. Enjoy the time with your son.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful having the kids home for the holidays. Stephen rolled into town early this evening. Yes, it makes this tiny apartment pretty crowded, but I wouldn't change it for all the tea in China.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your son is so at home and that you are spending quality time together. Your tree looks so pretty and welcoming. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
ReplyDeleteYour family room looks so cozy! Enjoy this full 4th week of Advent & have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with reading Hamilton
ReplyDeleteNice to have your son home.
Have a happy holiday!
I just found how expensive the tickets are for Hamilton in chicago. YIKES. I will listen to the soundtrack first to decide if I want to go see and pay the price. Happy Holidays. My son arrived ON TIME from far southern mexico. Its great to have him in sight. My daughter comes wednesday! Wheee
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks so festive and your room comfortably lived in. Christmas is a fun and exciting time. Here's to a happy one!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love to read history, Hamilton is not on my list. It is both long and dense! I admire your for sticking with it.
ReplyDeleteMy son came for an extended visit on Sunday. I love having his "mess" around the house, although I avoid looking in his bedroom at all costs. My decorating is almost finished, but my shopping is not. Enjoy the holidays and I will look forward to your Monday posts.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so festive Karen, I love it! My son and I have plans to watch Elf this evening and I cannot wait! Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas, much love xxxx
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your celebrations! We had a slow weekend and escaped home for a couple days. Just what we needed before the busyness of the next few days kicks in. Wishing you much Joy at Christmas x
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, my dear friend! My daughter Mary is heading home tonight with the book Hamilton in tow. I think I am going to have to approach the way you do, setting aside time each day to read it. It definitely doesn't sound like pre-bedtime reading! Our weekend was lovely, we had friends over for dinner on Saturday night and on Sunday went to another friend's house to watch the Giants play. With Mary's arrival tonight (and Michelle's on Friday) our holiday will be in full swing! xx
