Blink, Blink.....see that? Isn't it wonderful I am reading something NEW! After my long read of Alexander Hamilton and dense complex sentence structures, I am whizzing through this book. So far, I'm enjoying the relaxing read.
And no, I'm not going to start any more history reads for a few months. I'm recovering from expanding my knowledge.
I decided to start a pair of socks for myself because that's what I do when I can't quite decide what to knit next. I knit a small accessory. I bought this sock yarn for my husband some time ago, but then I thought, "Hey, I like purple too!". So now they are mine.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

I need a light read too. Sometimes we need to expand our horizons and knowledge with reading and sometimes we just need to lose ourselves in a quick read. Krisin Hannah is usually easy reading. I love that sock yarn.
ReplyDeleteThere is only so many huge books any of us can read. I can see why you need a break.
ReplyDeleteSocks are always appropriate!
My knitting has been very un-peaceful this week, I probably need to make a hat as a cleansing project! Enjoy your yarn and book.
ReplyDeleteIt's great with a light read in between other books.
ReplyDeleteAnd those socks are going to be pretty!
Congratulations on your epic Hamilton read! It's good to learn and expand our minds, but it's also good to relax with something lighter, like good fiction and purple socks for yourself!
ReplyDeleteBravo on finishing Hamilton! That is quite a feat!! And, socks - I can hear the sock yarn calling to me as I type! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful color!!! I am also starting my very first pair of socks this week :)
ReplyDeleteI've read some of Kristin Hannah's book but I don't think that one - I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteKudos for finishing Hamilton! I think that merits some purple socks and a fun read! ;) Love that yarn. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteOooh! Love that sock yarn! Congrats on finishing Hamilton.
ReplyDeleteA light read required for sure. You deserve it! I like an interesting sock yarn. I seem to be stuck in the "knit small accessory" rut. Really should try for something bigger than a hat!
ReplyDeleteKnitting socks socks socks! Ready to cast on another pair when I finish the current. Im reading some books that are super light: Knit Lit the THird
ReplyDeleteKudos to you on finishing that nonfiction gigantor. I'm trying to get at least one pair of socks done and I need to make progress on the jumper projects.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your new knit!
ReplyDeleteneat that you made it through that long read! Yes, we do need breaks don't we! :) love seeing what you are up to!!! have a peaceful night!
ReplyDeleteI really need to read Hamilton. That might be my next "at school" read.
ReplyDeleteI started reading Alexander Hamilton, a Life by Willard Sterne Randall, and I've only read the first chapter, it was great. But you make me want to get back to it. I actually was a history major and used to teach it, but I haven't really read history for awhile. Now my daughter graduated a History Major, costume minor and she works in an American Revolutionary Museum back East, she hand sews her garments and they're very serious about authenticity. So she makes me want to study the Colonial Era which I haven't before. You reminded me I need to get back to the book. My other book is just so fun.....:)
ReplyDeleteI am still knitting hat and mitten sets for my grandsons. I'm reading Extreme Vinyl Cafe (humor - yay) and Being Mortal (book group.) Socks are a good fall back project or a palette cleanser. Enjoy the winter.
ReplyDeleteLoved that book! Lovely yarn for your socks :)
ReplyDeleteThose will be great socks! I'm all about balance in reading - some light to balance the dense :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of that yarn, I have a little sock envy.
ReplyDeleteI ♥ the little pops of yellow in your yarn.
ReplyDeleteKnitting: 7 different pairs of socks and a preemie hat.
Reading: In the Footsteps of Sheep, but I just purchased Hamilton! LOL
All I've managed on the knitting front this week is I rolled a skein of yarn into a ball. 🙃 I'm currently reading History of Wolves and enjoying it very much!
