Weekends
Weekends are for memory making,
relaxing and enjoying quiet moments of our days.
If you would like, please share your weekend moments
in the comment section with a link to your blog.
Much to my delight and surprise, my husband asked me on Saturday morning if I'd like to go see the ice sculptures on display in Lewisburg, Pa. If you know me at all, you know I said "yes, please".
I'm married to a summer lover who barely tolerates this season, so walking about in 20 degree weather was extra special. He is the better person because he didn't complain but if it was 90 degrees outside I would have been muttering and grumbling.
My photos aren't that great because I was too cold to use the display screen and just did point and shoot through the view finder (cheating!). I'm okay with that. Any photos are better than none.
We walked up and down the main street, had a few slices of pizza for lunch and then returned to a warm car with heated seats (the greatest invention ever). We had fun.
Yesterday we watched the Super Bowl with friends, ate lots of good food - so good that today is a salad day to recover!
How was your weekend?
That sounds/looks like fun! I've never been to an ice sculpture festival, but I think I'd like it.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting and original weekend! I love your photos, especially because that sunshine makes it look deceptively warmer than 20 degrees. What a lovely and thoughtful gesture from your husband!
ReplyDeleteThe ice sculptures are amazing, Karen! It sounds as if you had a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to an ice sculpture festival before, sounds like fun but like your husband I would rather have a little heat.
ReplyDeleteOh those sculptures look amazing! I bet is was a fun day...especially getting back to heated car seats - lol.
ReplyDeleteOh those poor, cold duckie feets!!!!! I don't know how they tolerate being in water when it is sooooo cold.
ReplyDeleteLove the ice sculpture photos. The ice is so clear!!!
How amazing to go and see a display of ice sculptures, certainly something you need to do on a cold day!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun winter thing to do!!!! :) glad you didn't miss it!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the ice sculptures too...no chance of that down here in the deep South! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow fun...the sculptures look amazing! Heated car seats are something I can't live without now...lol. Have a great week Karen.
ReplyDeleteWe've never gone to the festival, mostly cos I hate the cold. Maybe next year...
ReplyDeletesounds like a wonderful weekend, Karen!!
ReplyDeleteAw, sounds like a wonderful time. We saw the SNOW sculptures here and it was freezing out!!! We have to embrace the season.....until MARCH when I start to complain. Haha.
ReplyDeleteand Karen, thankyou beyond words for the prayers for my mother and I. I am so touched
ReplyDeleteyou are so very welcome :)
Deletesweet of your husband
ReplyDeleteThose sculptures are amazing! What a sweet "gift" from your husband.
ReplyDeleteHa! Heated seats rank with rolling luggage as far as I'm concerned. What a sweet treat from your hubby. Sounds like a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'd say he must love you very much! ;) Yes, heated seats are the ONE requirement I have for a vehicle. I've told Evan I don't care if I have to push it along like Fred Flintstone, I NEED seat heaters. LOL! Down here, it's not bad to have AC seats either. ;) Beautiful ice! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Karen! And, how fun! Ice sculptures are so fascinating!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend, Karen! Ours was quiet since I was still recuperating, but lovely nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteThose ice sculptures are amazing. What hard work that must be. And thank you about my possum socky socks. Dare to be different as Fido Dido once said. I like the idea of a swirling stripe because it shows movement to the eye and energy.
