Good morning!  How was your weekend?  Full of snow perhaps?  Mine was delightfully snow filled and a big old fashioned nor'easter is heading our way.   I am not ready.  Usually everyone in my town shops for milk, eggs and bread.  I need to get going on that!


On Saturday morning, our son headed back to his apartment and I did the mad dash of cleaning the house for phase two of family visitors.  We attended Saturday night Mass and had a quick 'get your own' dinner once home.


Sunday morning was lots of laundry and making sushi (yum) for a packed dinner for my husband who drove to the airport to pick up our daughter!  They arrived around nine p.m.

I witnessed some incredible sunrises over the weekend and I wish I could capture the beauty as I see it.  The deer have been huddled on the wood's edge and maybe I'll get a photo of them as well!

In other news, I'm working from a new laptop and I'm loving it so far.  The learning curve is not as big as I thought it would be.

    You did have a full weekend of wonderful visitors! Hope you get your storm supply groceries without too much craziness at the grocery store. I'm thinking we don't really need a huge storm to remind your daughter what east coast snow is like, do we? I'm glad you'll at least be snowed in with good company. :-)

    Your pictures are beautiful, Karen. We had snow, too! Loved it...made our anniversary celebration get away even more romantic! :) Yay for your daughter's visit with you! I know you will love that! Have a wonderful week.

    Your snow and sun light photos are just beautiful. We too have snow, but only a few inches. I love your phase on and two of guests! Hope you have fun with your daughter. I spied some nice yarn on that table, lady!

    Your photos are beautiful--I love that last pic of the sunrise. I'm so glad your daughter has come for a visit--and just in time to snuggle in for a snowstorm! Does she knit? I see new yarn on your coffee table. :)

    Have a wonderful time with your daughter! My daughter visited us this weekend. She and I went to see The Sound of Music at a theater in Waterbury, it was wonderful. We spent a lot of time just catching up. The weekend went by too quickly! Hope you were able to stock up for the blizzard! I am all set and can hardly wait for the snow to begin.

    Is it still snowing? We spent the weekend finally doing laundry after the water heater was replace on Saturday afternoon. (We had a very wet welcome home: rain and a broken water heater) Also visited the GK and sang on Sunday. Loved your photos as always!

    Once you get familiar with your laptop, you won't know how you survived without it. I'd never go back to a laptop.

Knitting News

  Good morning to you! How are you? I'm excited about my hat that I've been knitting enjoying the sea of stockinette stitches. When I first started the hat I thought it would be too small, now I wonder if it will be too big. Gah. I will find out soon I guess. I wish the photo about showed how beautiful the colors are in real life, you'll have to trust me on this! Below is my next knitting project, the habitation throw . I will definitely use the pink and gray, I'm still not sure about that purple, I might have a look-see in my stash and do another ponder about that color. I chose this pattern because I can use up some of my stash and I adore Helen Stewart's patterns. What are you working on this week? Also: I will probably not be posting this Friday and the following Monday because of my family visiting. I hope to be back next Wednesday (unless I change my mind).
