Weekends

Good morning! How was your weekend? Full of snow perhaps? Mine was delightfully snow filled and a big old fashioned nor'easter is heading our way. I am not ready. Usually everyone in my town shops for milk, eggs and bread. I need to get going on that!
On Saturday morning, our son headed back to his apartment and I did the mad dash of cleaning the house for phase two of family visitors. We attended Saturday night Mass and had a quick 'get your own' dinner once home.
Sunday morning was lots of laundry and making sushi (yum) for a packed dinner for my husband who drove to the airport to pick up our daughter! They arrived around nine p.m.
I witnessed some incredible sunrises over the weekend and I wish I could capture the beauty as I see it. The deer have been huddled on the wood's edge and maybe I'll get a photo of them as well!
In other news, I'm working from a new laptop and I'm loving it so far. The learning curve is not as big as I thought it would be.
How was your weekend?
wow....family...new toys....AND snow!!! you hit the trifecta!!!
ReplyDeleteYou did have a full weekend of wonderful visitors! Hope you get your storm supply groceries without too much craziness at the grocery store. I'm thinking we don't really need a huge storm to remind your daughter what east coast snow is like, do we? I'm glad you'll at least be snowed in with good company. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe colors in that last shot!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely view. I'm glad you are getting to spend some time with the kids. It sounds like it's going to be quite the storm for all of us tomorrow!

Your pictures are beautiful, Karen. We had snow, too! Loved it...made our anniversary celebration get away even more romantic! :) Yay for your daughter's visit with you! I know you will love that! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteYour snow and sun light photos are just beautiful. We too have snow, but only a few inches. I love your phase on and two of guests! Hope you have fun with your daughter. I spied some nice yarn on that table, lady!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful--I love that last pic of the sunrise. I'm so glad your daughter has come for a visit--and just in time to snuggle in for a snowstorm! Does she knit? I see new yarn on your coffee table. :)
ReplyDeleteWe got our yard working equipment ready to go but not a whole lot else. Here's my link:

Have a wonderful time with your daughter! My daughter visited us this weekend. She and I went to see The Sound of Music at a theater in Waterbury, it was wonderful. We spent a lot of time just catching up. The weekend went by too quickly! Hope you were able to stock up for the blizzard! I am all set and can hardly wait for the snow to begin.
ReplyDeletesnow and a daughter visiting sounds delightful. (especially if there is milk in the fridge and coffee/tea and wine in the pantry) - hope it all worked out wonderfully for you!
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to entertain. Lovely photos and glad the laptop is working out for you.
ReplyDeletenew tech is always exciting.. glad you like it.
ReplyDeletethat is a beautiful sunset..
we are ready for the snow.. well as ready as one can be.
I hope that the weather is being kind to you!
ReplyDeleteOH THAT SUNSET!!! Beautiful! Enjoy the time with your daughter AND with the snow! How much did you finally get?
ReplyDeleteIs it still snowing? We spent the weekend finally doing laundry after the water heater was replace on Saturday afternoon. (We had a very wet welcome home: rain and a broken water heater) Also visited the GK and sang on Sunday. Loved your photos as always!
ReplyDeleteOnce you get familiar with your laptop, you won't know how you survived without it. I'd never go back to a laptop.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your daughter. And I hope you don't get too much snow!
Enjoy that new computer! Mine is so slow and it drives me bonkers. I guess it beats smoke signals.
ReplyDeleteHow many snow men have you built so far today???
