Current Knitting News
I've been feverishly knitting this shawl and love the gradient color changes. So subtle and yet striking. The pattern is memorized and I seamlessly pick up and knit away and get lost in the rhythm of the knit. Knitting is meditative and soothing.
I finished that cowl I've had on the needles since the unexpected snow storm, right now it's upstairs drying after a soak and a block. Oh yeah, I'm nearing the body ribbing of my cardigan. You know what that means -- sleeve knitting!
I started this book, A curious Tale of the In-Between which has been mildly entertaining. I think it's a middle schoolish book but some of the vocabulary is meaty. I picked this novel up at a used book sale last week. If you know me well, you know I chose the book because of the cover art!
What are you up to these days?
Sounds like you are making progress on so many lovely projects
ReplyDeleteStill working on the scarf for grandson. Anxious to start socks! Looking for a good easy pattern for my first pair. The heel directions throw me.
ReplyDeleteI too seem to choose a book by its cover. Lol!
Your purple gradient is gorgeous! I also love the subtlety, along with that cover - quite intriguing!
ReplyDeleteThe shawl will be lovely I think - I can't wait to see the finished object. Isn't it funny how sometimes you just get in a mode to knit like crazy, and then other times, it's just one thing or a little at a time?
ReplyDeletenice projects! you make such beautiful things! that is nice cover art on that book! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking for a glove pattern that wont make me kooky
ReplyDeleteNot reading. Watching horse movies.
Karen such beautiful projects, not a lot getting done here. The sun is shining and we have just got back from a heavenly picnic on the beach, chatting and doing nothing. Tomorrow is another day. We are definitely living the dream.
ReplyDeleteI love the purple of your shawl and the cover of your book looks interesting; I can see why it grabbed you. You are so funny! That happens to me sometimes also, reading something wrong. Oh boy sometimes I have to let my adjust when reading something small. I don't think I need reading glasses yet but my astigmatism probably causes it.
ReplyDeleteThe cover of the book is a little haunting. I'd want to know the mystery inside too.
ReplyDeleteI've been knitting my way through socks, socks, socks (and a hat)!
I started a book about a couple that picked up and moved to Denmark. So far, it's a very good book.
You are a knitting machine, Karen!! So much beautiful progress! We will be getting to see it finished soon! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tanna. You really are a knitting machine! And it all comes out so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI like the shawl that you are knitting. It is hot here tonight so the thought of knitting while I my hands are sweating is not so appealing. Soon it will be A/C weather, but not yet.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your projects, especially your purple shawl. Looks like an interesting book, at least from the cover. I recently finished Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah and enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteooohhh, that yarn is lovely - I think that would be a very addicting project!
