Knitting News
Good morning! How are all of your knitting and crafting plans going? I wrote 'THE LIST' and I'm a little daunted by what I'd like to accomplish before Thanksgiving. I'm already triaging the list and making notes of 'have to knit' and 'maybe not in time'. Ah. This is what I do every year.
This past week I've been working on the sweater for my son in law making tiny progress but chipping away at the body of the sweater. I haven't knit a bottom up sweater in years. So maybe when I'm done with the body, the rest will go zipping by.
I'm nearly done with the ribbing of my third hat (a Christmas gift). This is the last one using the same pattern, I need a different pattern for future hats to re-ignite my enthusiasm for hat knitting.
I have downloaded a few new hat patterns recently. I was just thinking I need to cast on a hat for take along knitting.
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking I will make a hat and then I cast on socks...again....
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to think about what I would like to get done prior to the holidays. I'm thinking most of it won't happen - LOL
I admire any one with a knitting list for Christmas. I am "sew" happy mine is fabric gifts this year!!
ReplyDeleteI felt that I was too slow and insecure about my knitting a project with a must arrive by date... so I am crocheting my new nephew's blanket instead. If I had been practicing more I would have felt better about it. But I do need to get back to the scarf and hat gift for my "step-grandson"... the had is done but the scarf is only about 1/3 of the way complete. :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you have your knitting time! What a blessing! I hope you have a lot of knitting success! :)
ReplyDeleteYour projects are looking great so far! I am starting to feel like I should really get going on starting more Christmas gifts too it is getting way too close now to Christmas! good for you getting a lot done so far.
ReplyDeleteI am now going to start working on some projects for myself and enjoy the process rather than rushing to get gifts finished. I have some small projects packed ready for our trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a stole for a friend's birthday. It is a new to me pattern, but a fairly easy one...a lot of repeating rows so it is working up fairly quickly.
ReplyDeleteKeep chipping away at the sweater. I have a hard time with those long-term projects
ReplyDeleteI went on a hat-knitting binge a few years ago ... and never got the mojo back. If you find an enticing pattern, I'd love to know! LOVE that closing photo...
ReplyDeleteI love the color of your son-in-law's sweater. As for hats . . . Have you seen the Ditto pattern? https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ditto-3 It is a freebie on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool photo of the water droplets!
Our GK asked Alexa "How many days until Christmas?" 70 was the answer and that was last week sometime. Scary! My list is too long also.
ReplyDeleteVery happy knitting news indeed. I am so impressed by your usual holiday knitting stamina and ambition!
ReplyDeleteI think I have two sweater's worth of yarn arriving in the mail any day now (one for me and one for Reed). Can't wait!!!
Girlfriend, you are miles ahead of me. I have plans to work on my swap partner's advent gifts this weekend and to master zipper sewing.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of projects on the needles, trying to declutter my life at the moment, so don't want to have too much stuff going on at the same time. I love bottom up construction a lot! For some reason I feel like it gives me more room for modifications.
